He doesn't score enough 'cheap' goals against weak teams, which is why I won't be betting on him winning the golden boot. From the team point of view, no complain what soever, there's no bonus point to beat a team 7:0
December 17, 20169 yr If I had a pound for every goal Diego has scored in a Chelsea shirt, I would have 50 pounds.

December 17, 20169 yr Great ball from Azpi and there was no doubt who was going to get on the end of it or where it was going.....DIEGO !
December 17, 20169 yr Costa is best in the league according to one of our top defenders. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/2421849/ashley-cole-chelsea-sky-sports-pundit-antonio-conte-formation/
December 18, 20169 yr Games taken to score 50 goals for Chelsea: Didier Drogba: 112 games Diego Costa: 97 games
December 20, 20169 yr Diego Costa is set to be rewarded with a lucrative new deal for transforming his Chelsea career.Chelsea want to offer the 28-year-old a two-year extension to his deal that expires in 2019. He is currently paid £150,000 a week, but can expect a significant upgrade on that figure if he agrees fresh terms. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4049614/Diego-Costa-line-lucrative-new-Chelsea-deal-transforming-career-Premier-League-leaders.html
December 24, 20169 yr I read this article from The Daily Fail - the title is a bit misleading, but I found it quite enjoyable. Here is my favorite quote from the article 'I wished I could go back to Atletico, I'm not going to lie. Everyone knows what happened to me there [England], with the language, the weather and everything. But I can't complain because I'm a boy whom the fans love, at Chelsea they respect me.' December 25, 20169 yr Really do hope we can keep him as long as we can. An absolute beast of a player, we finally have our Drogba replacement. It took us long enough... Think I would cry if we sold Costa and signed someone like Lukaku
January 1, 20179 yr He just shoved Indi Martins aside like a ragdoll, like he did Otamendi a month ago, and piledrived the ball into the right corner. Great goal, great striker.
January 1, 20179 yr A Chinese club are after him. Apparently offering us 80m and him 480k a week.If Oscar is worth 60m to them then Costa should be worth over 300...Either way, I don't want him to leave and don't believe he will. Best striker in the league.
January 1, 20179 yr how much?! lol the chinese can f**k off. give us battersea back and we might consider making a deal (not with costa though hehe)
January 1, 20179 yr He wouldn't leave know I'd hope but even in the Summer I doubt the club would even entertain the idea.
January 1, 20179 yr He has improved leaps and bounds. Although he has always been a goalscorer, he mainly was a poacher, excellent finisher. This season, has improved his hold up play magnificently which has played a huge part in him making a lot more assists. Just look at his goal against City, the way he shrugged off Otamendi and finished with aplomb and then the way he set up Willian for our second goal. He looks a lot faster, stronger and he definitely has been working on his technique/long shots etc. Some of the goals he has scored this season has been terrific. Before this season, can you even recall him ever scoring a goal outside the box? This season IIRC, he has 3 from outside the box. West Ham, Hull and Southampton. Brilliant goals. And then his finishing on his left foot. Just look at the quality of the strikes against WBA and Stoke. You would think that was his natural foot, when in fact it is weaker foot. Wouldn't swap another striker for him right now. He is unplayable and a joy to watch. Edited January 1, 20179 yr by STATS
January 1, 20179 yr I reckon we could flog our top 13 players for a cool Billion, I'm sure those dumb ass Chinese would stump up...

January 2, 20179 yr FOR the first time during a revitalised season that has seen him score 14 Premier League goals Diego Costa has spoken in detail about why he has shedded his bad-boy image – and has admitted he wanted to leave Chelsea. FOR the first time during a revitalised season that has seen him score 14 Premier League goals Diego Costa has spoken in detail about why he has shedded his bad-boy image – and has admitted he wanted to leave Chelsea. "I was about to leave. There were family reasons for wanting to go back to Atletico Madrid, but it wasn’t to be and now I’m happy here. And I’m content. “The people at Chelsea love me a lot and the manager, Antonio Conte, told me he counted on me. He is someone we can talk to, somebody whose support we can count on. He is calm with the players. He is not just a boss but a person too and you can see that people love him.” Conte has been widely credited for toning down the aggression in Costa – something many said could not be done without losing some of the talent. But Costa too should be praised for his transformation. “The team has changed from last year, not just me. But I wasn’t the player I should have been, because there were various issues. Now things are changed and we are a real team. If you work hard and there is not a good atmosphere, the work doesn’t mean a thing especially if there is no spirit. But work goes well if you give your best with the colleagues beside you. “But I know what I have to do still and I know when I do bad things. I had to improve that part of me because in the Premier League there is no mercy.” His bullying play drew him into the kind of confrontations that at one time threatened his future at the club. "I knew I had to get better because it seemed so many were against me,” he said. “There is no other way because, if they are not going to change, I had to.” Costa’s disciplinary indiscretions put him on a crash course with authority, but his goals this season have helped him become perhaps the most dangerous front man in the world. Next up for Chelsea – and another test for Costa – is Tottenham on Wednesday and the chance to equal Arsenal’s run of 14 successive wins, which was set over two seasons in 2002. The fixture last season was pumped full of ego and aggression; the type of game the Costa of old might have been at the heart of for the wrong reasons. Not so this time around. “It’s a derby and one we will both want to win,” he said. “It will be played with a little more strength but there’s no problem there.” Gary Cahill had opened the scoring for Chelsea, with Willian adding the second and third, before Costa’s aggressive master piece.
