Diego "the guv'nor" Costa

Featured Replies

I have a real affection for Diego and I admire him as a character and as a player but the problem he's got is that in future he will always be seen as the villain of the piece no matter the rights and wrongs of any incident and for that he only has himself to blame.

Any niggle on the pitch from now on, the ref will have a preconceived idea of who's the wrongdoer, and you can bet your bottom dollar that's Diego.

Refs like to play to the gallery and have their egos pandered. They'll be queuing up to send off Diego. He'll really have to watch himself now.

Who'll be the first to send him off? My money's on Phil Dowd. Maybe we should have a sweepstake.

^ It's not like that hasn't been the case for a while innit. Before the liverpool retro ban, after it. Has him being taken down in or around the box ever amounted to anything for a long while now?

It's gonna be more of the same as its always been

The preconceived idea from refs was here from day one. Michael Oliver booked him for a stonewalled penalty claim. He has had very little protection from the authorities when it's clear opposing coaches have singled him out for niggles designed to wind him up. He is a character no doubt, who will divide opinion but a clear message went out on Saturday, if you play with the devil expect to get burned.

@gpaulista5 @ourlotpod join the #costaboycott buy your coffee at #starbucks or #pretamanger until Gabriel returns

So....Arsenal fans...they want to boycott costa cafe until Gabriel returns. Has to be the stupidest thing I've ever seen.

This is now spiralling into an even greater farce. Goon's putting a petition together to ban Dean from ever refereeing their matches again. Frankly Mr Dean should be dropped from the premier list full stop, he had a shocking game all round on Saturday. Goon's would be better investing their time in petitioning their board and their hapless manager into buying some players with a backbone and a pair of bo**ocks between them. Costa beat them up, metaphorically speaking, both physically and psychologically on Saturday. Yes he pushes the bounderies a bit but the level of wailing come from the Goons is frankly pathetic. Wenger is untouchable at that club, if they lose to Sp*ds in the week that will be three defeats on the bounce but I bet we will not read a word about Wenger being under any threat of being sacked, as we would if it were any other manager.

Blatantly been mistranslated or something.

Interview was conducted in French I believe.

Or, the big Kurt gives zero f**ks. Lad.

Quite frankly if Arsenal are going to use Costa as a scapegoat for a dreadful performance then they are in a river in Egypt. The yellow cards were correct and Gabriel undid himself. Yes Costa could have got a harsh red for raising his hand ( it wasn't even a slap) but to be looking for a ban is just being sore losers.

Costa has been charged with violent conduct, 3 game ban then. Forget about an appeal, Remy to play the next 3 games.

Yet Sanchez punches Ivanovic in the back last season and gets nothing.

Inconsistency in decisions yet again FFS, this is what we mean about a campaign. Toure and Aguero did far worse in prior seasons yet because the media doesn't say anything nothing is done, sigh!
