Tiémoué Bakayoko

What he is brings is a midfield energy, a real powerhouse going forward with his runs. I can see why Conte kept him on because of this.

Theres a player in there and he show some promising signs. He definitely is abit naive defensively but I think it will come.

Patience guys.

Wow i cant see one single reason why Baka should have started and it was pretty obvious he never should have come out the second half. DD should have played with Kante and Fabregas passing was superb.

All Baka did was stroll around, not marking anyone, giving the ball away and when he did get forward he did sod all. It was honestly like playing with 10 men, i haven't seen such a bad performance for a while.

I still can't see what he actually does.

He doesn't score, he doesn't really tackle, he doesn't bust a gut like Kante, he can't even really pass more than 2-3 yards. WHAT DOES HE DO?

He spins around in circles a lot.

In all seriousness, he looks like he is struggling with the pace of the game at this level. He looks a bit clueless out there. I didn't get the hype when he was at Monaco and i'm still waiting to see what it is that actually makes him so good now. For the price we paid, you want a more complete midfielder than what we are seeing now. It's looking like we bought him too soon. Last season was his breakthrough year, i hope for our sake he isn't a one season wonder.

The worst player ever for CFC. Currently leading the worst player in PL history category. He’s awful, awful and more awful combined into one giant sandwich of utter tripe.

Please, please let him get injured.

There is nothing worse than wishing injury on one of your own players. It's such an asshole thing to wish for.

Baka is someone who has been given a fair chance in the team, Batman has never had that chance. That is the clear difference when some people like to chuck the odd league cup performance or 10 seconds at the end of the match as someway of rating Batman.

Same prick wants us to sell Hazard,  he's just a prick on the wind up.

I *iss myself laughing when thinking back to the pre-purchase hype surrounding Baka.

We were told we were getting a younger version of Yaya Toure - all power and speed.

And what did we get; a guy that almost hits a force field when he gets within 2m of an opposing player, a guy that ambles after the opposition when they have passed him on the break and a guy that has difficulty in judging the optimum path between himself and the player to which he is passing the ball.

I don't buy all this setting-in crap either.  We paid a finished article price for a player who is clearly far from being anywhere near Chelsea first team standard.

He seemed to be full of himself before joining us and no doubt his agent, parents and family dog all think he is the Bees Kness in true X-factor family support stylee- and we suckers bought the story.

Who on Earth sanctions the purchase of players of this calibre?

And we thought we could  not do worse than matic...lol

Ironically conte has a better player he is using only against stoke reserves and league cup teams. Just like he has a better goal scorer on the bench than morata. Got the subs wrong conte. Needed Batman on today not against stoke at 5-0. He gets that last chance he take it imo.

Midfield energy? Running around and doing nothing you mean?

His performance in the first half was absurd, the number of times he left Ozil & Sanchez when it was his man to mark at the time. He can't transition on a football pitch, he has no chemistry at all with his teammates. In the first half he was literally running for a ball Kante was already running for which left Ozil free on the edge of the box.

We keep saying patience but are we going to keep saying that when we are struggling for top 4? There is a big weak link in our team right now and it's obvious where it is. Gary Cahill at least knows what he's doing, he just isn't good enough at top level anymore, but you wouldn't expect him to not man mark a player properly or go to sleep on a corner kick.

Like I said in the match thread, Bakayoko is the bane of Conte's season, Conte keeps playing him when it's quite clear the lad isn't ready. He shouldn't be starting games like this, we've got Danny Drinkwater who's been available for plenty of matches and constantly he is on the bench. The first goal actually came from Bakayoko giving the ball away which was just another dreadful pass, I've seen no football pundit praise Bakayoko since he has arrived, I think we just need to accept the fact that the guy at the moment is a liability. If we keep on playing him the chances of a top 4 finish decreases.

He had a injury set back a few weeks ago. When he's been fit, he's been in the squad.

You can't use that excuse, Drinkwater started against Liverpool which was ages ago, he's been fit for a lot of games he's sat on the bench for. He was even on the bench today.

I thought our midfield was pretty ordinary last night, played an extra midfielder and still not over powering Xhaka\Wilshire etc. No one was closing down Ozil, the amount of times he got a pass with no one within 5 yards of him were alarming, surely 1 of the midfield 3 ( likely to be Bakayoko) should have picked him up. I reckon Conte should stick with the same midfield for 4-5 games in a row with Kante + Someone else, the constant chop and change didn't help either. Drinkwater had a great game ( granted it was against a reserve team), he's on the bench, all the sudden Cesc/Bakayoko was in, and Willian left out despite recent good form.

I'm a Baka apologist but Drinkwater has to be starting

Disagree in bats, he wouldn't have had those one on ones

It wasn't bad enough to wish injuries on players of other teams, so now you wish our own players get injured. You are a nasty creature, types like you make this forum an unpleasant place.

I dont think thats fair on him. Baka struggles in a 3 man mid for sure. But he has been very good recently when we have played a 2 man mid. He plays just like a B2B player should. Available for possession, circulating possession, making good runs with the ball. His presence in and around the box needs to be improved but even in that aspect, he has definitely been getting better. If you notice he is getting into more dangerous positions now. So i definitely see a lot of positives from him. Surely needs to improve and he will, but dont think he looks "clueless" any longer.

he has looked sub-par, but he's also looked fantastic at times especially against spurs, atletico, utd etc. is he even supposed to be a defensive mid? is that his best position? to me it seems like he would prefer to get forward. some players take more time to adapt to the league, i certainly think it's harsh to write him off when he's only been here 4 months, and for the early part of that had no pre-season and was carrying an injury.

£40m is not really a finished article price to be fair. £70/80m yes, but not for 40.

I actually sigh everytime Baka gets on the ball.... Ive seen sunday league players pass better than him. Give DD a decent run in the team....

dkw in name calling shocker. I’m sure the mods will be along to amend his posts or give you a ban. Oh, that’s right. They overlook transgressions if you’re part of the clique.

As I said then, I don’t want to sell Hazard as you proclaimed. I said that I even hope he leaves for his own good rather than be surrounded by the other rubbish in midfield. Prick.

DD needs to have a run, as soon as he came on he had more of an impact than baka, put himself about and looked proactive in trying to win the ball. Baka has had a good chance now and has not impressed, basic foundations of his game are lacking and really putting us under pressure. SO frustrating as he has the characteristics of an absolute power house but when he can't even find a simple pass or control the ball he has to take a back seat. For me he is the most frustrating player in our team to watch and I never feel comfortable when he has the ball in possession.
