I said that I even hope he leaves for his own good rather than be surrounded by the other rubbish in midfield. Prick. So... You don't want the club to sell Hazard, but you hope he leaves? On a free? I'm confused.

January 4, 20188 yr This guy has less than convinced me. Some positive moments, but a lot of clumsy moments too. Happy for him to stay and prove himself, but for me right now drinkwater takes his place, and if he has not shown much more before the end of the season i expect rlc to go in ahead of him too. Baka has his time to shine right now, hope he ups his game.
January 4, 20188 yr Baka is a strange one. Seeing him play for Monaco, compared to now, it looks like we've signed his identical twin brother, who's never kicked a ball in his life. Simple passes go astray.... positionally/tactically, he is horrible.... despite his physique, he can't seem to tackle, or win headers.... despite being quick, he doesn't track back and he doesn't burst forward enough. This is nothing to do with playing in a new league - these are basic things. Is it confidence? Is he carrying an injury? Is he unsure of what his role is? He has all the physical attributes to be brilliant, but I'm not convinced he has the attitude or football intelligence to actually do it. If it all clicks into place, we'll have one hell of a player, but at the moment, that looks light years away.
January 4, 20188 yr 9 hours ago, enigma said: he has looked sub-par, but he's also looked fantastic at times especially against spurs, atletico, utd etc. is he even supposed to be a defensive mid? is that his best position? to me it seems like he would prefer to get forward. some players take more time to adapt to the league, i certainly think it's harsh to write him off when he's only been here 4 months, and for the early part of that had no pre-season and was carrying an injury. I wouldn't say his performance against United was fantastic, he was very wasteful against United, if we hadn't of scored that game I guarantee people would have scapegoated him. You can't neglect some of his performances, Liverpool was one of the worst performances I've seen in a Chelsea shirt, yesterday was very similar, Atletico at home he was atrocious. City he looked lost but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt because every player looked lost. Don't forget the Spurs game we were very fortunate, we were completely overrun in the midfield and everywhere else, Harry Kane had a nightmare. Arsenal at home Bakayoko looked good for the 20 minutes he came on, Atletico away he was good. His best match was probably against Brighton, after that I haven't seen anything that warrants his game time or even shows that he has the potential of being a top-level footballer. So when you look at the full context of Bakayoko this season, you can see why so many people are writing him off. Football fans are fickle, but so is the game football itself, you lose 3 points and it's a completely different season. I know this is entirely subjective but Bakayoko is losing us points more than he is winning us points from the way I'm seeing it and that for me doesn't warrant his game time. Fair enough don't write someone off in their first season, but don't keep playing them when they're underperforming and promising they'll become a good player either.
January 4, 20188 yr I would not write him off either just yet but conte is being seriously bloody minded to keep playing him when he has drinkwater, who imo is a pretty tidy player. How can the same manager that is willing to put faith in ampadu and Christensen be that stubborn otherwise.

On his performances so far, I think a lot of us will put, Kante, Fabregas, Drinkwater, Loftus Cheek all before him in the team. Maybe some of us have Van Ginkel, too. Waiting for him to string together some dominant displays and kick on if Conte keeps playing him. I really want the guy to do well... You can see he's nervous indecisive on the pitch, knows the fans are not too happy with him.

I’m hoping he comes good but we can’t keep carrying him and waiting for it.
January 4, 20188 yr I understand when we had no Kante and no drinkwater we needed him to play. That is fine. We have options now. So why not use them?
January 4, 20188 yr Also, I think he needs to stop playing in the 3-5-2 formation immediately. We played 3-5-2 in the Manchester City home game, Atletico Madrid home game, Arsenal away game, Liverpool away game. And all those games he looked lost, no defensive discipline. The only time he wasn't piss poor in that formation was the United 1-0 game, but we were completely dominating them and always on the front foot.
January 6, 20188 yr He's f**king woeful. Complete waste of money. We shouldn't have bought him and drinkwater. Shouldve kept rlc and spunked £75m on a top class centre midfielder. Now we are left with 2 players that are probably only going to good enough as squad players, and RLC will most likely be moved on. Strange buisness.
January 6, 20188 yr It's starting to look like i was right to be worried about signing this guy. I'm not seeing anything from Bakayoko that makes him better than Chalobah or Loftus-Cheek. I don't know how he fooled so many people at Monaco, from what i could see, he was average.
January 6, 20188 yr I've defended him and maintained that he will potentially be a great player eventually but his performances of late have been so so poor.

January 6, 20188 yr I've defended him at times but after the Liverpool game, his performances has been really poor. Today feels like an audition for him hencewhy Conte gave him the full 90. Once Barkley is fit, he'll be dropped. Today has been THE worst performance despite him not gifting a goal to the opposition. Effort was weak, confidence destroyed, barely playing forward passes and didn't want to take responsibility of the ball at all despite him driving forward with the ball being one of the primary skills we probably signed him for. Not writing him off but he has to work hard to win back the fans.
January 6, 20188 yr Awful once again. It took 48 seconds for him to mis-control the ball. I know because I was watching the clock to see. So many terrible passes. Every time the ball comes to him his attempts to control have the ball bouncing off his shins. He improved in the 2nd half and was less sloppy, but he's still nowhere near good enough, and I really can't take much more. Drinkwater should be starting instead of him, which goes to show how weak our squad is, because as much as I'd like Drinks to succeed, he's a very limited player and wouldn't start at City, Utd, Spurs, Arsenal or any top side from the other leagues. Yet he's our best option for a 3 man midfield at the moment.
January 6, 20188 yr The mystery isn't why he looks so poor - he lacks basic ability, which he is never going to get. The mystery is why our coach, who clearly knows the game, continues to select him.
January 6, 20188 yr Bakayoko strikes me as the sort of player who would struggle to score more than one on keepy ups ...

Baka was a board signing, Conte has gone on record saying he rarely gets players he wants. Takes a brave man to drop a 40 million summer buy from the board
January 6, 20188 yr Getting plenty of chances to shine. Not taking them... A little bit different but should have just bought Jean Micheal Seri from Nice if they wanted a midfielder from the French league with a bit of quality and who was available. He still is... I wonder if Nice can be tempted with a swap.
