Nowhere near good enough. We've also completely messed up our wage structure in this process and right now our squad is a complete shambles in my opinion.

We severely lowballed him on the first offer.

His market value is at least 200k pw and considering it would also cost us about 70-80m to replace him, it would have been cheaper just to offer him 300k, which he would have accepted if we offered it last year before January.

He has also given us a good opportunity to move on and develop new talent. To be at his best Toni needs to be at his physical peak, as he gets older that will be more difficult. Playing in Spain will help him prolonge his career too.

the only thing that hurts is once again it seems we have not built on a success.. JM 2 the season after was a disaster, AC season after was poor.. and now we have lost Rudi and not been able to improve.. this is really frustrating..!

We are. PSG, City, and Liverpool are too.

Ancelotti now saying he wants to play Rudiger as a left back 😅 as per the experiment against Barcelona in pre-season. He has been great running back in wide areas to cover but it’s a bit of a stretch to make him a full blown LB. Carlo doesn’t want to disrupt the Militao/Alaba partnership, so is going to shoe horn him there.. unbelievable.

Already miss him.

Even in this video you can see some of his defending errors, but then you can notice his effort, aggression and behind these actions he shows the opponent who is the "boss".

Like I always said, we will find a better CB (maybe already found, Koulibaly) with defensive quality but we will need this aggression also.

I wouldnot worry about aggression with KK he loves a tackle and is proactive on defensive minus the histrionics.

Pretty average defender, relies on his aggression and physicality too much. Don't see how he helps mentor the kids we have. Always looked better with an actual defender next to him that could read the game.

He's better than average. He's not perfect, and you're right that he looks better next to a steady defender, but he could teach these young defenders of ours a lot. They could do with a bit of aggression in their game.

Isn't he another one predominantly playing on the left side of the 2 CBs. It seems to that all of the links so far have been to LCBs. Nothing is changed in my mind that they are looking to cash in big on Colwill so they are looking for a replacement already.

Didn’t he look great in a back 3 but always a little loose in a back 2? I guess with kit inverted full back situation we often have a 3, or a 2.

Anyway, a great defender, but keep moving forward and don’t go back.
