Think he was a lot better today. I do actually like Emerson, he just has too many off days for me to think he's the one to permanently start games from now on. 

He's 25 years old, so he's not old, he can still improve.

I think he is a perfect squad player, yes he is inconsistent however the potential is there for all to see. Would love to see Chillwell and him fight it out for the first team place.

Why on earth had we not try him out for corners in the 3 years he's been here baffles me.

Such pace and at least accurate to a degree.

He did take some corners against the spammers, to be fair, and I believe in other games as well.

Yep and one he did take Zouma almost scored on, well should have scored on.

It was an absolute sitter, the way he headed it, it was like he was aiming for the keeper, it's harder to miss than it is score.

You do have to give the keeper credit for his positioning, a lot would have been tracking toward the back stick

A lot more than Alonso. Or so we hear about his superior.

Thing is though Emerson is pretty awful defensively too. 

He just ran away for the first goal. Don't know why he couldn't see that Odoi had a hard time with three players around him. 

I'd rather Alonso be our left back from now on until it's properly addressed.

This guy maybe faster than Alonso but you never see him busting a gut to break foward or to get back, so his speed is only a marginal improvement on Alonso when you take his lack of conviction/effort into account.

When I think about it, all of full back/ wing back options we currently have Victor Moses was probably better than all of them and he's out on loan.

In the PL with Alonso starting we are won 6 drawn 0 lost 0 ... whereas with Emerson we are won 3 drawn 2 and lost 6 ....  but it's just deceiving stats right ?

He is the most frustrating player we have, i bite my lips watching him to stop myself cursing all the time. We need to cut and run on this player. I wont call him a fake, because i have no clue what he's meant to be faking.

I think there was more expected from him once he settled and got back to full fitness but he's been underwhelming overall. Today he was absolutely awful. 

Zouma and Rudiger very poor. 

Jorginho and Kante did what they do... They're not creative enough players or natural attack-minded midfielders. 

Hudson Odoi was shocking. 

Abraham didn't have much service but constantly overplays or wastes good moments and openings. 

Willian tried hard but couldn't do it on his own. 

The whole team was set up in a way that made it easy for them.

Obviously not but when the alternative is Alonso as a fullback, Yeah, everyone was dying for anyone with a bit of pace.
