Mason Mount

37 games by my reckoning. Clearly one of, if not the, first names on the teamsheet. In a team that has seen rotation in almost every position, that is pretty incredible. Only Azpi and Mount have had guaranteed starting positions throughout the season. Add Pulisic and Giroud to that with their post lockdown form but Mount is clearly one of the stars of this team.

Yeap!

Wowee I can't wait to see him play with Havertz next season (Fingers crossed it will go through). I think Mason might drop a bit deeper and pull the strings while Havertz will bang them in. I also think Havertz could play the KDB role very well so maybe they'll work in tandem and swap around a lot. Could be very fluid.

He is proving to be a big game player which since Lamps and Drogba left we have not had so much, Obviously Hazard being another one. Mount at his age is turning up in the big games with the performance today, a big goal in the FA Cup semi and his goal against Spurs

Hope he can be a final specialist like Didier

Sad to say, judging a player has become nothing more than looking at a bunch of stats and numbers. Gone are the days when people actually used their eyes to form an opinion. He's been pivotal all season long and he's only going to get better. We've got a gem on our hands here.

His numbers are pretty decent considering that he's only 21 and playing for the first time at the club and on this level.

For the most part of this season our strongest attacking players have been Mount and Tammy, Willian and Pulisic stepped up a bit later on but Mount has been a machine, his pressing and work rate is simply amazing and on top of it he managed to put out goals and assists as well.

It was so nice that he solved this last game, he deserved to steal the show after playing with such high energy throughout the season. Lampard got it all right.

Just watched the EPL play off as well and Conor Gallagher looks decent as well. He should also be with the group next season along wit MM and the new signings. We need to be clear on what youngsters are performing and make sure that they get pitch time

I still dont like him playing out wide though, must better in midfield.

He’s like Kante, his position is ‘every f**king where’.

Took us to the CL. Unreal that he's 21 years old that has just played 26 PL games in his first season. The sky is the limit with Mount.

He played in all but one of the premier league games. 37 premier league apps and 51 in total for the year.

Yes, sorry for the wrong info.

Great debut season , played in a variety of positions. Had a couple of blips but he is young and still relatively inexperienced. He is though the energy in the side, leads the press and clearly one of the first names on Franks teamsheet. Interestingly he has similar stats to the boss on his debut season in the top flight.

Nothing but praise for his first season.  A couple of bumps, but he sets the tone. 7 goals in debut PL season is a great achievement (keep in mind Willian has only ever exceeded 7 goals in 2 of his 7 seasons with Chelsea, and he gets penalties and freekicks in his stats also).

Would love to see him in midfield next season rather than the front 3.  Some have questioned his ceiling, but honestly I think Mount could become one of our most important players for next decade.

He's not a winger in the first place. I believe Frank plays him there because he's the only on who presses aggressively consistently

Ironically two of his best performances on a Chelsea shirt have come in that position. Tottenham and Wolves.

However I think that's more a fact he's a big game player.

Was terrible yesterday. I've said this already, but he is a good squad player at best but shouldn't be starting. Unless he scores in a game, the only impact he has is that he presses, doesn't really bring too much else

Lay off. Played a role in the opening goal and was far from our worst. Seems very strange to be singling him out for criticism.

I didn't single him out, but he was very poor.

Also not much point harping on about the defence because everybody at this point knows how awful that is.

Fingers crossed the Havertz deal goes through, will be interesting to see how that plays out. You don’t sign an £80m player & stick him on the bench because another player presses a lot.

The “pressing” argument is very flawed though,  he has started most games and we ended up with our worst defensive record in 23years.

He is ineffective as a winger. As yesterday's match proved.

His only attribute as a winger is his pressing and set pieces. He is much better as a No. 8 to complement Havertz in the defensive side of midfield.

He needs a ton of work done to be a consistent starter. The fact that he started almost every game is Lamps playing his favourite to me. I don't disagree with Lamp's decision most of the time but it was clear that in some games, Mount did not need to start.
