I'm not defending Bats but they wasn't clear cut chances, to put the game down to Bats is stupid. The hatred of him has got to stupid levels tonight, the whole team has near to nothing in creativity or goals.

I think you’ll be disappointed as it’s going to be the same story rehashed.

I still can't believe the powers that be have let the heart be ripped out of my team.

 

Bayern will destroy us I think, and Spuds? I have no confidence at all, I thought this winter break will make us play better and we'll be more fresh, instead I see more players getting injured and our attack struggling even more than before the break.

Football is a very simple game, score goals and defend well. We do neither. Yes we had some poor officiating decisions tonight but ultimately we lack quality at both ends of the pitch. Frank though has to be questioned on why he continues to start Bats in front of Giroud , who at least puts in a physical effort. Overall this was a very bad result and European football at the Bridge next year could be taken out of our grasp and with it much needed strengthening.

Nah, that chance in the first half should have been buried. Zouma's a defender and his disallowed goal was a better finish than Batshuayi's. Batshuayi sh*ts himself in big moments, he hasn't got the bottle to take chances.

So how does VAR actually work ? Since when is a kick in the bollox been allowed ?  

People keep mentioning our injured players and rightly so but the manager needs to do his job and managed a situation like this, change your plan go for a plan B(what Sarri go blasted) stop playing expansive and look to be compact and try nick a goal but no we continue this expansive football that Stevie Wonder can see its not working. It's a mark of a manager that is good who shows how he can adjust his tactical philosophy to suit th situation which from what I have seen so far Lampard doesn't seem to be able to do, on trick pony?

 

Also buying a new team will not fix tactics that are not working.

that’s fair enough. But giroud did put away a not-clear-cut chance that I don’t think bats would. But I agree to an extent - I think there’s too much anger and hatred in general on here tonight. All is not lost.

The second chance?, that's no clear cut chance, I wouldn't have no confidence in Abraham or Giroud scoring that, Abraham has missed plenty of better chances than that. You can't be putting the game down to one chance like that, we was sh*t and that's end off. I dont entirely blame Lampard as his options are limited, he wanted a striker and got no one.

Infuriating.

1) Maguire should have been sent off for the kick out, how is that different from what happened with Son?

2) The 'push' from Azpi is only a push due to Fred pushing him. Clearly visible on VAR, once agin getting it wrong.

3) Can have no complaints with the offside.

4) Utd's second, why is Maguire even still on the pitch.

5) Christensen and Pedro should never play for us again, both absolutely shocking every time they're on the pitch.

6) Why is the ref stopping play at the end of the game for De Gea? A clear time wasting tactic and not a head injury.

 

Another frustrating loss to Utd when we absolutely dominate the game. 

 

In summary, f**k VAR off until we can get competent people to use it. Inconsistency by a ref is fine, inconsistency with VAR is infuriating.

Fair enough its offside by the letter of the law. But Maguires studs to the groin was clear to see and they didnt call it. Then a clear shove by Fred on Azpilcutea was totally overlooked, but not the shove by Azpilcutea. Thats where VAR is letting us down, not on the offsides, but being brave enough to give attacks fair justice. Every game goals are taken away, but none are never given. How can VAR ever be revered by us fans, when all it does is take away.

 

Totallt agree. I am questioning the game more and more these days. It is being corrupted and ruined by those running the game, with VAR being their tool. Many of us will lose interest if this keeps up I think.

I find it more a lack of creativity in the team, looking at the team gave me no confidence and that's why I thought Alonso and James would be better as wing backs. Out of all the players available tonight IMO they give the best creativity. If they was both playing i would have played Giroud and tell both wing backs to get that ball in. 

Yay. We smashed them in possession, goal attempts, touches in their box snd expected goals. Unfortunately they more than tripled their expected goals. And as usual we fail to score our expected goals. 

Our home form is truly pitiful.

Well, there goes my reputation as a lucky charm. But I must say, the moments we chose to go forwards instead of sideways or  backwards were terribly exciting!
