March 28, 20224 yr I firmly believe he deserves to be put alongside legends of the game like Beckenbauer, Matthaus, Baresi and Maldini

During the six months he could not be registered, the Brazilian studied under his role model, Paolo Maldini. The apprenticeship under Maldini proved incredibly fruitful, as Thiago Silva's natural talent was refined leading him to become one of the best defenders in the world. A perfect of Brazilian flair and European tactics, with Alessandro Nesta he formed one of the most effective defensive partnerships in football. Quote Is Thiago Silva your heir? «I like him very much: he has the physical and technical characteristics of a champion. In one-on-one he is very strong, he must learn to play in pairs with the other central. But with Nesta he will do it quickly and he will need to train with Favalli and Bonera ». April 1, 20224 yr Didn't play for Brazil until he was 23yo, maybe that's why he is lasting so long ? We must try to keep him after he retires from playing, we could do with a hero figure like him to entice South American talent.
April 3, 20224 yr You know the team dropped an absolute steamer when even Silva looked below average in a game.
April 6, 20224 yr One of my all time favourites. Imagine him and JT in their primes. That defence would be unbeatable.
April 7, 20224 yr Once more feel particularly bad for him and Dave, they deserve much better than they have had from their teammates and manager these last 2 games.

Just looking at last night he was abysmal and Benzema completely dominated him. About 80% at fault for the 1st goal for losing Benzema's run and leaving him wide open, and about 50% at fault for the second.
May 14, 20224 yr Season is over and we have no trophy to celebrate. Give Silva the last week off, been a long season and he deserves it.
May 14, 20224 yr I really hope he wins fans player of the season. He's the only player in the entire squad who has been faultless from day 1. Some are saying Rudiger, but I think Silva has been on another level. Rudiger is just more eye catching. Edited May 14, 20224 yr by Scott Harris

Let down badly by his team mates these past few months.
May 15, 20224 yr If you look specific at his performance only, you can have the meaning of world class player. Of course that if we were winning more trophies and reaching the semi/final in CL, world will be talking more on him. He's our top performance since the beginning of the season, he's top defender in the world and deserves to get credit for it.
May 15, 20224 yr The guy is a genuine rolls royce of a player. Now that Kante's twin has moved away, he is our only consistently world class player.
July 14, 20224 yr Ones of my favourite ever players, and completely ecstatic that he played for Chelsea, and won the CL with us. I was worried that he'd be too old etc, but he's been phenomenal. I'm not sure how he'd have fared in a back 4, but I don't care because that's hypothetical. Plus his wife is a riot on Twitter
August 6, 20223 yr Thiago Silva vs Everton : Most clearances in the game (3), Most interceptions (4), Most passes completed (62), Most accurate long balls (5/9), Joint most aerial duels won with Kalidou Koulibaly (3) and most blocked shots. At 39 he's still a Rolls Royce of a defender. For me he should have been our Player of the Season 2 years in a row. One of the best signings we've ener made Edited August 6, 20223 yr by Drogba1

One of the best signings we've ener made I know he's getting older, but he's not that old just yet. He's turning 38 next month
August 6, 20223 yr Some top quality punditry from Jamie Redknapp "Thiago silva is one of the greatest ever, the only thing holding him back is he's never won the champions league" Literally won it a year ago...
