Frank is a Chelsea legend and he deserves a warm welcome at the Bridge every time but I don’t think he’s ready for a job of this magnitude - we have no plan of attack and our defence is abysmal. Defensively, these are basically the same players as Sarri had and we only conceded 39 goals in the league that season. Looking at the players we fielded at The Hawthorns and tonight only to see a point and a cup exit in return when considering the opposition? We’re in trouble. Good first post, Pob. He needs to go now before this gets any worse. It's not like this is a kneejerk reaction. It's the same story over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again. NOTHING has changed. We don't look good in any part of the pitch. Frank is clueless.

September 29, 20205 yr Disappointed, controlled the first half, same old story squander a bunch of chances, in the lead for 63 minutes, poor decision making on and off the pitch. Still bet all our players really worked on their fitness today by the end of the next international break hopefully they will all be fit !

So why are you mentioning it right after he missed a pen saying “are we allowed to now” it certainly sounds like it was for missing a pen and you realised your comment wasn’t very popular Edited September 29, 20205 yr by SFL82
September 29, 20205 yr Penalties are a lottery but there goes our only hope of a trophy this season. Frank's a Blues legend and much of our success over the last 16 or so years has been down to him and the great players he had round him and I was pleased when he came back. Unfortunately either his appointment was too soon, the players don't listen or they're just not good enough. I'd love to see him succeed but I sort of hope he goes to Roman and resigns before he gets the bullet and before fans and media turn on him. Up the Chelsea

Pulisic I’ll give you - he definitely is one of our best players if not the best. Spurs played without Kane or Son who make their team tick and provide the vast majority of their threat and goals. Why do you get so upset when anyone criticises a performance of the team, a player or Frank? It’s like you’re their mum. Can you honesty, hand on heart say you think that was a good performance tonight? Ziyech is quality, Pulisic is our best player. That's two really good players missing, not to mention our most expensive signing in Havertz. Werner on the wing due to injuries, besides the midfield we didn't play out best XI at all, that's not Franks fault either. This narrative that Spurs had injuries so it's embarrassing isn't going to wash, we've had plenty of injuries coming into the season, besides Kane who did they really miss tonight? Keep in mind they got to bring Kane on later in the game. First half yes it was a good performance, controlled the game at their ground, not a GREAT performance of course. We were sloppy in the build up, 2nd half it all fell apart and they overrun us.
September 29, 20205 yr Too many goals week in week out looped to the back post. Has to be fixed by the manager.

I don’t get Lampards fascination with Mount and Hudson-Odoi I know. I mean f**k me, it's not as if they got us back into the game on Saturday against WBA. Edited September 29, 20205 yr by Nibs
September 29, 20205 yr I know he is meant to be one of the bright young things for the future but i keep coming back to CHO. I'm sorry but this guy has absolutely nothing about him. He used to be about blistering pace and direct attack. Since his injury its gone. He is a winger with no pace at all and therefore has been found out to be a bang average player. Champ player at best. That Murphy lad that was at Norwich and i think is at Newcastle now is miles better than CHO. There are countless other average wide players who are all better than this lad.

Frank deserves more time. For me this is a weak excuse. As much as I hate to say it you only have to look at Arsenal and what Arteta has done with them, even though he’s had less time with a weaker squad coming off the back of worse results. Each player knows what they need to do, they have a plan, in general he’s made them more solid at the back and they can transition through midfield. Frank’s had a year and we haven’t moved forward at all - new players, same errors. Why is every player coming into our side and basically having the same issue? Roman won’t wield the axe yet but a win against Palace is a must now. Nothing else will do.
September 29, 20205 yr Jimmy is right, Chilwell would of sprinted back compared to Emerson jogging back.
September 29, 20205 yr Just now, Scott Harris said: It doesn't matter if players are going to return from injury because they won't be able to do anything about the god awful defending we produce in every game we play. They are under pressure to take every chance they get because the defence just can't stop making errors. I don’t disagree we have been defending poorly but I feel people should at least allow Tiago and Chilwell to be fully fit and starting before deciding if frank really can’t coach defensively. I honestly feel them 2 will improve our defence and if I’m wrong I’ll admit it. I don’t agree with calling for frank’s head that some people are mentioning (not you).
September 29, 20205 yr 4 minutes ago, Nibs said: No agenda. Don't think too many would argue that we looked much better after the changes were made and we should have put the game to bed. So yes, we concede but that was not down to Kante being on the pitch and Kovacic being off it (perhaps in your world it IS down to that?) We looked better for about 5 minutes. We were in control of the game for the first half and they couldn't get a sniff of the ball. I think the Kante sub was the right choice, but that doesn't mean Jorginho or Kovacic played poorly, they didn't. In the opening of the 2nd half they did though for sure. You're like the opposite of Gol15 when it comes to Jorginho, it's ridiculous.
September 29, 20205 yr Looked increasingly like an inevitable outcome after we wasted all that possession in the first half and did nothing with it. It was obvious spurs were going to score at some point. Any game that relies on us keeping a clean sheet atm is a non-starter. We will concede. Every. Time. The quality of passing and crossing tonight from our players was abysmal.

September 29, 20205 yr Can’t complain. Fully deserved. At least less fixture congestion. But Frank needs to turn things around ASAP and prove he has the tactical nous it takes to manage at the top level, which, lest we forget, is extremely demanding. The excuse that he’s integrating new players is probably still valid but only just and for how long? The worrying thing is it’s not at all clear what the players are being integrated into, as there is no system to speak of from what I can tell. And it’s just joyless to watch. But the simple fact is he’s a ‘nearly’ man. the reason I asked if we were allowed to voice that opinion yet was because a lot of our fans can’t bring themselves to admit it.

Love Frank, he is legend for Chelsea, but his is not the right manager for us at the moment. RA won't put up with this sh*t for long either, we are clueless in defence, midfield and attack and most painfully, look like a very fragile team, such a contrast to what usually a Chelsea team look like.
September 29, 20205 yr What is the point of a winger who won’t take on the full back ??? Hudson oh-dear only takes a pass and gives it back, usually in the opposite direction to the goal which we are attacking, he doesn’t have any belief or confidence to push it and go - a couple of times he was on the halfway line and he didn’t fancy taking on the full back and the amount of time he is just in no mans land ball watching - he makes so that when he plays we are a man down IMO

September 29, 20205 yr So many reactionaries against a penalty shootout. Yes, it shouldn't have gone to it in the first place and we should've been more clinical but do you really think Frank's head will role after a season with champions' league football secured despite losing our best player and having a transfer ban? Yes, I understand tactics need to improve at times but I honestly question the mentality of some fans calling for Frank to be sacked. Timo, Kai etc the list goes on, all signed because they believed in the Lampard project. Get a grip.
September 29, 20205 yr I honestly don’t know why we play Emerson, he’s got no urgency in him. He’s not cut out for English football.
