November 4, 20205 yr Textbook Champions League performance. Did exactly what we needed to do. Absolutely love how much Mendy, Silva and Chilwell have made a difference. We look solid.
November 4, 20205 yr Not our finest performance but the result never really looked in any doubt when we got the first. Another clean sheet!! Incredible when you think of how the season started for us. I also think it was interesting to see Anthony Barry talking to Rudiger before he came on, it’s worth acknowledging the difference he’s made to the defence as well.

November 4, 20205 yr Bit sloppy towards the end, should’ve created more really and Giroud looked completely out of sorts. Nevertheless, 3 points and another clean sheet, can’t wish for much more.
November 4, 20205 yr Didn't play that well offensively tonight but 3 goals and a clean sheet is a good result any day of the week.
November 4, 20205 yr Lovely jubbly, my superbru prediction fulfilled. When they went down to 10 then 3 nil I thought they’d be dead n buried but FairPlay they tested the subs and it got too open at the back, away day ?? could be a tougher prospect. Now if Biden can just win !
November 4, 20205 yr Football is conspiring to ruin itself with ridiculous new laws Clean sheet again. Mendy and Silva look assured Midfield lacked the balance it had at weekend. Gaps were evident between the lines Resting players was a bonus tonight Timo takes a penalty like the boss One more win required for qualification
November 4, 20205 yr 5 clean sheets in a row, since October 6 clean sheets in total. With a good keeper and reliable backline we are a real team, and just like I said last season, nobody can do the job of the backline they need to do their job and T.Silva and Chilwell simply made us a much better team. Zouma has been playing well too overall, even if he's still sometimes insecure with the ball when pressured.
November 4, 20205 yr 3 points, some players got rested, I'm happy with that! Quite a dull game but whatever.
November 4, 20205 yr Timo Werner is the first German to score two penalties in a single European Cup/Champions League match since Lothar Matthaus for Bayern Munich v Real Madrid in April 1987. bbc sport.
November 4, 20205 yr I'll take a clean sheet and 3 points every day of the week, regardless of how we achieved it for the most part. Yet to allow a goal in CL so far and Sevilla just let in 2 to Krasnodar at home. Take care of business on the return matches and secure top of the group!
November 4, 20205 yr 5 clean sheets in a row. First time in 10 years.. I bow my head and pay my respect to Lord Mendy
November 4, 20205 yr Even when we're not perfect we have to win, 3 important points, 3 important goals for our strikers and another clean sheet! That red card just killed Rennes, they looked lost but our subs brought them to the game somehow. Anyways, we need 2 more victories to secure our spot, seems like a very legit mission. Well done boys, COME ON CHELS!!
November 4, 20205 yr Not surprised that changing 4/5 of our regular back 5 has made such a difference in our defence... Thiago Silva and Mendy have had the biggest impact, but Chilwell and James have equally been excellent. We should really look to sell a bunch of these excess players and promote a young LB and CB to play behind these 2 if we are to rest one of them.
November 5, 20205 yr I didn’t like the midfield combo. Much better when havertz is there. man city, Spurs, even Leicester will test our defence much more.
November 5, 20205 yr Outrageous call on the second pen and red card. We stopped trying at 3-0. Full credit to Rennes they worked their socks off.
November 5, 20205 yr Can see why the pen was given as his arms were in an unnatural position, wouldn’t of given it myself but I’m not a referee, never a 2nd yellow though, I’m just happy Werner banged in the pen. To see some of our fans apologising about the decision on Twitter, I couldn’t give two sh*ts tbh, maybe some of us care too much about being liked these days, if we start getting absolutely detested again we’re doing something right.
November 5, 20205 yr Nice easy win with so many positives, especially in defence. But I thought this match showed exactly what Havertz brings, the ability to link up, play intricate triangles between the lines, that very quick transition and very importantly keeps Kante playing a bit further back where he's most effective. Our attack can never be very effective when Kante is one of our advanced midfielders.

Its ridiculous now isnt it, and next week a much more blatant handball wont be given. I actually feel sorry for some referees now as they obviously have very little idea on how to implement these stupid rules.
November 5, 20205 yr Wasn't an very impressive performance going forward, but defensively we done well and Mendy was immerse again. I think the absence of Havetz clearly showed, he's not a perfect player yet but we definitely missed his running and passing. Jorginho was ok, but when he plays Kante started to push further up field and showed his limitation in that end of the field. Never doubted a German taking penalties, and the first was all him for switching the flank and running into the box at speed. Lastly, the second penalty and yellow card were terrible for football as a game. Penalty was harsh, but yellow to red card was completely unwarranted.
