December 15, 20205 yr Everybody is pointing their fingers at Havertz and Werner, but instead of looking for a scape goat, look at us collectively. Werner wasn't the reason why we lost today, neither were Havertz, they were part of the reason, but not THE reason. We aren't playing well as a team right now, it's not just those two players that have dropped form. Mount has been as bad as anybody of late, but he works hard so he's going under the radar, his quality on the ball has been horrendous. Chilwell has gone very quiet, he can't deliver a single decent ball into the box unless its from a corner and isn't exactly bringing any excitement to our attacks. Mendy is making mistakes that is costing us goals, Zouma's defending is still a bit all over the place for me too. Lampard's tactics are the biggest issue though. He's not adapting to the situation at hand. Why is he sticking to the same formation and tactics no matter the condition of our squad or team we play against? With everybody fit and everybody in form, 4-3-3 is the way to go for us, but we have 2 injured wingers and one unfit winger, the answer is not to just fill in those positions with any player available and hope things work out.

As usual Mount and Kanté were encouraging. For once James wasn't. Overall I don't think we were good and I think we played into their hands, but I think a draw was a fair result. Let's not get into the ref's overall performance... Not a chance did we deserve a draw. We bent over and presented our arses for them to firmly rogered as soon as we went one up. It was awful. Wolves fully deserved that win. As soon as they upped their game our midfield bar Kante stopped playing and even he was loose with possession on too many occasions. Havertz and Kovacic offered nothing other than encouraging Wolves to think they could win it. Werner either has to be in the centre or be on the bench. It's pointless starting him as a wide player. I'd rather we shoved a winger from the youth team on than watch Werner look look like a St Mirren reserve.
December 15, 20205 yr All players looked low-energy and tired, except probably Kante...We don't manage our games well now and also look very predictable in front of goal. So many teams are playing really well this year that it's hard to see us getting Top 4 at this point.

December 15, 20205 yr Can Lampard explain why Pulisic was switched to the right wing. It makes no f**king sense

I have seen some great teams on paper that didn't work out in practice, mostly national teams. It's the manager's job to make things work, you can't just buy a whole bunch of exciting players and mash them up together and expect that it will just automatically work, sometimes it might work but not always.

December 15, 20205 yr 8 minutes ago, Brutos said: This is squarely on the manager we have a better team than wolves even with injures they are missing their best player and we still lose. Lampard is just looks like he doesn't know how to react to difficult moments in the games Hard to argue with that. So disappointing and Lamps has to accept some blame today. So predictable that subs would be left to 70+ minutes and you knew it would be Tammy and Kova for Giroud and Havertz. It was completely uninspiring - pretty much like the whole performance. I guess commendable that at 1-1 in injury time we pushed for the winner but we never looked like scoring a second, whereas they looked much more lively on the break and I had a gut feeling they would nick it. Sometimes, just be happy with the 1 point - re-group and fight another day. Really poor today in so many areas - especially game management.

December 15, 20205 yr Very frustrating to lose to Everton and Wolves should be winnable matches Got to take the rough with the smooth lads. No one is running away with it, Frank could freshen up a couple of positions but he will get there, we are still dominating games.
December 15, 20205 yr An overall bad performance. Werner and Havertz completely disappointed in this match. Shame that Zouma didn't score from this chance, would probably be a completely different match with a 0-2 lead. Still a very disappointing performance.

To be fair, it may have been a different game had they not scored from a corner which shouldn’t have been. Isn’t VAR allowed to look at that? We should have defended it better, though.
December 15, 20205 yr 20 minutes ago, Butterhampton FC said: You can hide behind the fact that Werner is not being played in his primary position but I thought his nickname was Turbo Timo? The guy can't beat a single opposition player for pace. When has he ever been in the position to beat a player for pace? The ball is played to him in wide areas where he is being asked to play crosses into the box or take on the defender and beat them with skill like Pulisic or Hazard. That isn't Werner, Werner got his nickname from balls being fed through to him that he could run onto and beat his man for pace to score a goal or set up a team mate.
