Official Thomas Tuchel *Now Sacked*

I think TT is a very smart man and now he talks about finding the right solutions next season. Imo the solution is to do what I felt he should have done more of this season. Which is play with a back 4, I like the back 3 system but I don't like having 5 out and out defenders on the pitch at the same time.

We can even keep the current 3421/3241 system but play it like TT did in pre season utilise Ziyech as a wingback more often and CHO which granted TT would have if he hand tbeen so injured

I'd rather we use this opportunity now to move away from having 5 defenders on at the same time, it's holding us back. We need now to utilise the area of our squad we have the most depth in which is our attackers.

                                Mendy

 James/Trev   Silva/New CB  Azpil/Hall

            Kanté/RLC     Kovacic/Jorginho

CHO/Pulisic  Mount/CG   Werner  Ben/MA

                       Havertz/Broja

Add in Colwill, Sterling, potentially Koundé and or another highly rated CB and losing our two Defenders doesn't seem as bad.

Move toward a back 4

                               Mendy

 James         Trevor         Silva       Chilwell

          Kanté/RLC        Kovacic/Jorginho

Ziyech/CHO Mount/Gallagher Werner/Puli

                Havertz/Lukaku/Broja

These are all lineups without any real cash injection now if we get recruitment right we really aren't that far behind where we are now.

If anything this is a blessing in disguise and we now get to shed the need to play with 5 defenders at the same time and embrace our attacking talents, perhaps buying a DM will be the key to this but I believe a new attacker won't necessarily be needed we just need the right profiles to allow us to drop one defensive body and play more attackers.

Oh Thomas what chance do you have of saving us all in the cup final when you see such an attitude change from the players.

Hopefully they don't turn on you like they have all the rest.

Too many draws in the PL this season ... especially the 1-1's ...

We've become in general terms "difficult to beat" but lack the killer attacking instinct to win games, and win convincingly.

Liverpool put 9 unanswered goals past Man United in the two fixtures. We have limped to two 1-1 draws against an absolutely terrible United team.

If we'd won the seven 1-1 draw games, which could easily have happened, we would be joint top with City right now.

1-1 vs Man United (twice), Brighton (twice), Everton, Burnley, and Liverpool away.

Fine lines in sport ... but maybe we aren't as far off City/Liverpool as many think ?

When you watch the two City games this season we look way behind.

When we played Liverpool 3 times this season we look like we are right up there.

We just dont have the attack the other two teams do, goals conceded we are not far off Liverpool/City despite the recent games VS Arsenal and Brentford.

But goals wise we are a bit behind, another reason why we are better away from home than at home. We struggle VS Deep blocks.

The problem with the team comes from the midfield and the defence. Say what you want about our forward players and their lack of cutting edge but how many of them actually get many chances a game?

Havertz had 3 against utd and should have done better yet, how many clear cut chances did Werner get? Lukaku or Pulisic when they came on? We move the ball from defence and midfield to attack way too slow, we see it every game.

No killer pass from defence or midfield, too safe in possession, we don't use the transition like City and Liverpool. Pep has been working at City since the summer of 2016 and Klopp at Liverpool the winter of 2015.

Despite this being a Tuchel team it's not really a Tuchel squad, he's tailored the team and squad to his tactics but that doesn't mean that it's his style or rather that these personnel can play his style.

We do need a clinical world class striker, one that it's not about the money we paid or they earn. They just do their job and score that is one of the first things we need to address.

Secondly we need at least one playmaker or deeplying playmaker who can not only spot an eye for a pass but also execute them. We thought this would be Ziyech,  but we've lacked creativity since Hazard and Fabregas left.

The hope is Gallagher and Broja will be potentially fixes, yet I still think we will need a CM who can provide the decisive passes.

Despite all of this, there is a belief from me and a handful of others that think regardless of the flaws in our squad both attacking and defending (since we are required 70% of the time to play with 5 outfield defenders we have flaws in our defence TT believes), had we access to Chilwell and James for the whole season and a few others (essentially having a full power squad) we would have gone til the end of the title race with Liverpool and City.

I think our elimination to Real has knocked the confidence of the players. We have won a couple of games since but we are not the same side, despite TT best efforts. I don't think we will be back to our top level again this season.

I think the players will show up for the FA cup final at least but yeah I'm not expecting anymore stellar performances for the rest of the season. The Real game really did knock the wind out of the sails.

When Tuchel talks about not being clinical and decisive, this is what he's referring to. Instead the ball went out to Alonso. In the first 15 minutes there were 3 ignored opportunities to play someone through or in-behind. Tuchel can demand as much as he wants but at the end of the day, key elements of our attacking unit are either young and inconsistent (Mount, Havertz, James, Odoi, Pulisic) or generally sh*t (Werner, Lukaku, maybe Ziyech). I'm okay with former as it's understandable and even expected, but we need to supplement them with some real quality.

Thinking about our play style, I actually blame Sarri. He started the footballing culture of recycling possession and we’ve been stuck with it ever since.

The only time we actually didn’t do it was under Frank, where we played some scintillating attacking football but then it fizzled out.

I would love to see us play more direct, I’m so bored of Azpi passing back, pass to James, cross, etc.

I really miss Fabregas, his long balls were something else. I think if we find someone with similar vision as Fabregas, we’d be much more effective in attack. Kovacic, Jorginho and Kante don't really have any creativity. Well Kovacic does see the perfect pass a lot of times but sadly he hasn’t really got the ability to pull off an inch perfect pass.

Agree 100%,love the 3 players but we need to move forward, hopefully Gallagher will help.

It's how you win the league now. Sarri moulded us from the counter attacking team we were that's just too easy to defend against now. The reason we aren't winning the league is because we need better more consistent and creative players, the style isn't the problem.

Frank made us reckless and that's why we came unstuck. Teams figured us out.

We're Chelsea, we don't need to play a certain way with some style. We just need to win. United are in trouble because their fans and the pundits think there's a "united way" and are focused on that instead of just winning. The reason we keep winning trophies because we do what we need to do to win, we adapt and evolve. It's why sarri came in and it's why frank was sacked.

I'd rather we win trophies than play nice football.

Atrocious management today, we’re whipping in corners so who do we bring on? Ziyech and Pulisic rather than Lukaku who, albeit has been total sh*t, can actually head the ball and make a nuisance of himself. I’m actually the most fuming I’ve been all season. Absolutely horrible all round.

I'm disappointed in his unability to coach any kind of attacking quality into the team. But I guess we'll have to wait and see what changes with the new owners next season. We'll defintely have to make a few signings, so maybe we'll get some better players in.

Sad to say, I think Tuchel has to carry the can for the way things are going. It’s unreal the way our performances continue to go from bad to worse and even worse again. Ah well, with new owners in the pipeline, maybe a change of manager is not only a probability, but essential.

It was clear that Kai wasn't going to have a good game today. Same for Werner that can't make a simple pass. Too late with the subs and somehow he kept Havertz for the full game despite all clear signs that it just wasn't working.

Utter sh*te today, terrible game plan from the off, terrible game management throughout, just ridiculous substitutions.

7 points from our last 6 games. If Roman was still in charge I am pretty sure Tuchel would be shown the door at the end of the season.

Don't let @Dean here you say that...

Different manager same old same old. Players decided when they have had enough and don't care anymore, and so it has come to pass here again.

Been garbage since we got knocked out of the CL. Our reaction to going behind was an "oh whatever who cares" one. No desire, no grit, no cares.

Our defense is a mess, Mendy very rarely does anything positive anymore, and oye forward line gets worse every game.

Players have clearly downed tools, well most of them Silva is as professional as ever.

Biggest reason why we are where we are.

Managers come and go, players remain.
