I think that was the point. He gets to the ball first to force the contact from the keeper. It was deliberate play from Werner, he had no intention of going for goal once he see's the keeper charging out.

Rudiger is not just poor or useless, he is a handicap for our team. Every time he touches the ball, I am nervous he is going to f**k up massively. I hope we get rid of him in the summer.

I've no issue with his goals. It's a penalty, we have plenty of penalty takers in the team.

I have an issue with his contribution to our overall play. He keeps passing it backwards to our defenders who they themselves are not good on the ball. With Sheffield's pressing, it adds needless pressure and it opens up chances for our defenders making brainfarts ie the own goal. 

A lot of our passing is to the man, rather than forwards into space to allow the man to run onto it ... it's no wonder we look pedestrian at times .. pretty basic stuff that we aren't doing !

The players playing beside him even get nervous. He’s affecting the whole defensive line

If that's the case he intentionally just runs at the gk and looks for the foul. I know that's football now but I hate it. 

 

He should've taking it round the gk on the right side so if the gk doesn't take him down he can score imo.

Of course I'm saying that as I'm sitting on the couch grabbing another hand full of crisps

He can work when their defence is on a standstill, I think he is best used as a late sub when the opponent are tired

Club needs a massive clean out in the summer if we want to compete next season; we are top heavy with bang average players plus some of the sh*te on loan.  Tommy will be looking at about 50 players by the time summer comes around...
