Chelsea have played 36 games, Brighton a lot less and we have played more in the league to keep us on track for the World Club championship.

Brighton are a decent side I watched them play either City or Liverpool and thought they were cheated by cowardly officials. For me the best team outside of the top five.

I think all our players gave a lot of effort yet were not good enough on the day.

Mount did not dot stand out today neither did CHO despite getting more of the ball.

Our resident pensioners in Silva and Azpi both played well.

Ziyech was ok and of course he scored.

Their goal was clever too, it surprises me at times how few tall players we have at corners.

Kova should have started for me to help beat their press.

Werner was giving the sort of ball on the break that Lukaku might have produced something from.

I was also disappointed Pulisic was not introduced for CHO.

I also get frustrated that our strikers do not run to the near post for crosses.

Body language was also interesting. Looked like players were fed up Lukaku. Players seemed to often avoid playing him in and when he complained at both Ziyech and Azpi, they both bit back, which you don't usually see.

Got the same name for both sites I see.

Needs to be gone...on a long loan or for good.  This is about the best he will get.  No improvement over the last couple of years.  I keep hearing about this kid has so much talent; I've yet to see it. For a winger he can't beat a defender worth sh*t. Ziyech and Pulisic are just as bad as wingers; and while Ziyech may has scored tonight he is a luxury player you can't have in the line up from this point forward...totally disinterested, and too many lazy games where he doesn't even break into a sweat.

I wouldn’t oppose him being sold but I actually thought he looked decent as a wing back. Tuchel seems to have abandoned that idea though, which is somewhat surprising considering the teams struggles there in recent times.

Ziyech is a luxury player but he was good enough tonight although he’s just too inconsistent to be in the Chelsea side I reckon.

I haven’t given up on pulisic yet, I still think there’s a player in there despite him making it harder to make a case for him with his inconsistency. He’s still the most talented of the forward players imo.

This is actually a good point. There are 2 luxury players on the team now, no wonder our pressing game from the front is almost nonexistent

Players are tired.

Haven't we got a world class Academy to call on ?

Agreed, Wasn't it Tuchel who was adamant at the beginning of the season he only wanted 21 squad players? I vaguely remember him saying we had too many players,  I'm a big fan of his and think he is definitely the one to take us forward, but you can' t be moaning about tiredness when our squad isn't big enough...if the players are tired, sign some bloody replacements where we need them and bring in reinforcements where we need them as soon as possible....we should of been working on bringing in replacements for Chilwell and James as soon as they were injured, we're now under two weeks away from the close of the window and all we've seen again is rumours and nothing concrete... It seems we need a clear out in the summer and a big rethink on our approach...this lazy winter football we see every year is draining on us fans that have to watch this, how can the players be tired, regardless of howany games the team has played individually the most appearance makers are probably Rudiger and Mount and they've barely played 20 games all season...it's an excuse, I think there is dressing room unrest and factions forming within the group again...

I think that the harsh reality is one that we arrive at evert year by thus time. We're a successful side and have a large number of games. We have a group of players playing the managers way and we're successful at it. Then the injuries and rotation happens and the same old group of players end up playing during the winter months and it all goes t*ts. The commentators cannot get it into their heads that lots of players doesn't necessarily mean strength in depth. Our second string players are just simply not good enough to play in a league as strong as this

Awful performance. We got outplayed that whole game and Tuchel is a lot to blame as well. Should have taken advantage when we were 1-0 up and made changes. Kovacic, Havertz should have come on a lot earlier. We had no control. The players looked lost. Alonso starting at LB had danger all written over it. We all knew it would be a weak spot. I don't even know why pundits are so clinging on to this 'we lose ground on the leaders City'. Facts is we are in a top 4 race. In terms of games to be played ratio, we would fall behind  Spurs if they win their games in hand and also Arsenal would draw level on us. James and Chilwell are huge losses. It is weird that we looked so good against Spurs in both games of cup but look so bad in the league games. Such a big game on weekend against Spurs. Cannot afford to lose.

They are lost! I've said it before. The tactics are not there! That's the difference between us & the likes of City & Liverpool. They have tactics! Our players don't know how they are supposed to play & it seems like they are just watching each other. That's without playing players out of position & bad man management.

I don't expect Tuchel here in the summer.

What got mourinho sacked again? Ah yes, bad man management & losing the dressing room!

I came here at the weekend after the match against City and said Tuchel's system and tactics are poor. A lot of players' performance depends on the manager, the system, the tactics, and if the manager demands a win from the players.

I'm glad that some people here now are saying it that Tuchel's system and tactics are bad.

I don't expect Tuchel here in the summer.

Exactly.

I keep hearing lazy pundits talking about the quality on our bench and the depth of our squad. But they don't watch these players regularly. There is a reason certain players are mostly on the bench. I've said it for ages - we have too many handy squad players but not enough top level, match winners.

Feel for TT as some players look like they are running on empty. He just needs time for players to come back from injury and then bring in some REAL quality, to have us challenging on all fronts again.

Utter Rubbish.

Look at the tiredness in the squad and how we are the onlt top side not to have one game called off. Look at Liverpool last season when they had injuries and I think they went a month without winning a game.

Tuchel is the best manager we could have and he will turn it around. Let him go and I fear we will slip into obscurity with the likes of Everton.

Now, that is all done and dusted, I think we need to talk about the elephant in the room. One cant help but notice there is this feeling in the air that our players are mad at Lukaku and dont want to play with him. A proof of that is the number of touches he had during the game and the argument he and Ziyech had at the end of the first half. I think forcing him back in the starting eleven, simply because he is our top signing and earner might have ruined the chemistry in the squad and TT needs to pull a rabbit from the hat and sort this out. Whether have a chat with the lads or just bench Lukaku for a few games, something needs to change as this sh*tshow we are seeing might cost him his job.

As for last night's game, the only players that are off the hook, are Silva and Kepa. Thiago has always been a great professional and is giving his best, despite being 37 and the situation in the club. As for Kepa, he is embracing the chance he got now that Mendy is gone. He is either trying to get himself a nice transfer in the summer or at least give Edu a run for his money. The rest of the team is just .... there is a lot of things I wanna say about them but will rather not. We seriously need to think about alternatives for Dave and Alonso, Ziyech probably needs to be sold and CHO is simply not good enough. He has ruined decent opportunities to either score or setup a threat for their goal more times than I can count and I am pretty much convinced he should be sold too.

Hopefully, we will be able to turn this around by giving the Spuds a good old spank and then bring home the Club World Cup to boost our morale.

Imagine pool losing both trent and robertson or city without cancelo and walker for extended period of time.

That is what happening to our team

There's something seriously wrong with our forward play, They all look disinterested and without any organisation.

No plan B for the full back situation and we keep making the same mistakes over and over.

Brighton were the complete opposite of this last night. Great pressing, passing and looked highly motivated.

Brighton played at a high tempo and pressed us from the kick off. We looked sluggish and overplayed it.

Our goal came from ‘out of the blue’ and ia good one at that from Ziyech. Why can’t our players shoot more often.

My old man would have called it. ‘Trying to walk the ball into the net!’

Their equaliser was very poor marking on our part.

Good game, few fouls and no play acting. Caught Brighton on a very good day. Some players are past their sell by date, Eye opener.

As the poster above said, they wouldn't wouldn't as rubbish as we have been. Losing Chilly and now James is a good excuse for being out the title race. It is not an excuse for the amount of wins we've had since we beat Leicester.

I can't believe some are still slating Ziyech after a goal last night...

A good 20 seconds doesnt take away from the other 79 minutes and 40 seconds of total and utter sh*te.

Without him we lose. Simple as that.

Simply have to beat spurs and then hope the winter break works wonders…only beaten Watford, leeds and villa since chilwell’s injury.

Genuine question, what winter break, there isn't one in the Premier League, or any other league in England ?
