I’m normally critical of caicedo but this matches what I saw with my eyes. 

Second half in particular he was good with his tackles and interceptions and it’s why I have him credit for being one of the players to not fold like a chair under the pressure. Normally he turns in a ghost but not today. Credit where it’s due.

He's playing as a sitting DM which negates his instinct to be more proactive in his defending.

Was he? because from what I could see, Luton were completely dominating and the only reason why they didn't score more was because of a combination of  Silva and Petrovic keeping them out. Caicedo was crap, again.

Another game of him losing his man in the box to let the opposition score. As Sexyfootball said, even more concerning that the others managed to be even worse. Still not sure what our game plan even is. I really want Poch to work out but I can’t see any style of play and defensively we’re a calamity. Onwards and upwards. 

Terrible to not match the run of another midfielder. No excuse for that.

Yes, I expect effort and desire at a minimum from him. That was a "I dont care enough" moment.

He doesn't cover as well as Kante, he doesn't tackle as well Kante, he doesn't run with the ball as well as Kante. He doesn't jump as well as Kante. He doesn't finish as well as Kante.

He's not Kante.

I was with you until you said the ‘jump’ thing, as i never recalled Kanye doing a header anywhere on the pitch, as he is what, 5 foot 3 inches tall?

Another player being out of position doesn't excuse losing your own man in the box for a free shot from 8 yards.

I thought second half he did his job well, sniffed out counter attacks and intercepted/made a tackle before they became a problem, but in that first half he was awful, leaving his man like that for the first goal was shocking.

Completely disagree on both counts Phillip. Wasn't Drogba in the air of course, but for a dwarf, Kante contested most balls in the air and that was often good enough. It's a complete myth about his finishing IMO and plenty of videos on YouTube to prove it. If you're saying he didn't get in those positions often enough, I might agree.
