January 11, 20233 yr Hoorah. He can’t be as bad as our current options, can he? I think I could do a better job and I’ll be f**ked after making one run up the pitch.

If he plays well, he will either stay at Atletico, or he will cost so much, we wont be willing to buy him with Nkunku coming anyway. Or he plays sh*t, and weve just wasted another £20m. 3rd option is he does okay, and we loan him again for 12 months. Cant be any worse than we have already, so hopefully makes the games more bearable for the rest of the season. Is there any evidence that Nkunku is coming. Is that deal done yet?
January 11, 20233 yr Not very excited to be honest, as we are still not addressing the obvious lack of strength and creativity in the midfield. But I hope that he helps us get back on our feet and I wish him all the luck here.

It's not been announced which makes me nervous, but all journos are saying its 100% done and signed for him to come in the summer. Still injured at the moment, so maybe they will wait until he is back playing before we get an official announcement.

January 11, 20233 yr Quality signing, I would imagine we have the first option on him to buy if all goes well.
January 11, 20233 yr Felix is an unknown quantity in many ways. He could well turn out to be an aguero or a Chris Sutton. There is no info on buy option. I am guessing there is none.
January 11, 20233 yr Interested to see how he performs in this team. Not happy with how expensive the deal is for such a short loan with no buy option. I guess the owners were concerned a long enough run of bad results would see them needing to sack Potter so they figured Felix could help them avoid that.

I am guessing there is none. I think I read Atletico wanted an obligation to buy and for obvious reasons we didn't want to pay a high fee for a unknown quantity. But I think we'll sign him if it works out. I'm super excited though, wanted him ahead of Havertz as he's a different profile to the rest of our attackers. A player that demands the ball, plays with aggression and can spot a pass. Fingers crossed.
January 11, 20233 yr Felix should give us a taste of how Kai, Nkunku, Sterling front line will feel like. This should be a fun signing
January 11, 20233 yr £10m for 14 weeks work and then he's off back to Spain for the summer with a new contract and a new manager, perfect for him and AM, absolutely perfect. It will only be perfect for us if we go and finish top four, otherwise it's a complete waste of money and Potters time. We could finish top 10 with what we already have, so why bother with Felix unless you are going for top 4 ? I think this signing increases the pressure on Potter for that reason.

Still awaiting official confirmation from either side, but its done. If Fabrizio says here we go you know we're in business. Was completed in December Edited January 11, 20233 yr by LongtimerLurker

January 11, 20233 yr I don't think we are getting top 4, I don't think we are getting relegated and I don't think we will be signing Felix permanently. Given those assumptions, I would have preferred us to use the remainder of the season to blood our youngsters into the team - particularly Hutchinson. Have we ever have a loan that worked out well?
January 11, 20233 yr I wonder what Potter does with Felix, with how dire our attack has been does he just play him every game from the moment he's available. Or slowly bed him in? Also is he under instructions to play him no matter what or does he still have complete freedom over team sheets. With such a pricey loan there's an expectation for us to get our moneys worth
