So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!

Lets go for Xabier Alonso if only to piss the dippers off.

Would be fantastic and I think a seriously viable appointment under Roman. Alonso is the hottest managerial property in football right now and realistically wouldn't touch us with a barge pole - he has many better options. This is how far we've fallen already under Clearlake.

"we aren't talking about a team struggling to get in the top 4, we've been turned into a team struggling to get in the top 10 and it's by and large the fault of Pochettino."

did you see us last season, if so who was the manager? sorry, who were the managers? How is our downturn related to our current manager when he's been here 7 months and we finished the league 12 last season. I get it you folk need someone to blame but when I see another "I won't stand for it" - it just reads and sounds like a man child whining on like you're entitled to win the league every season. I genuinely feel sorry that you feel the way about the club, you'll get over it.

Despite having admiration for what roman did for us, we are still facing oblivion because of him, how he ran the club and facing a possible relegation via FFP. Im not sure CFC can work any other way aside from buying young and developing them into something and that takes time and patience.

I think the "how he ran the club and facing possible relegation via FFP" is a bit of a push. In fact there is no evidence that any of the muckraking being done by the press on the historical Russian links and accou ting shenanigans will result in any sanctions and certainly can't be for FFP as this is assessed over a three year accounting period.

The man the you seem to continually point your criticism at (although I suspect none of this was happening during his reign) bought the club at a time that the subordinated loan was imminently due and threatened to bankrupt us within weeks. Like him or not Abramovich can definitely be classed as a generational talent as there is an entire generation of Chelsea fans now, that you seem to scorn as being entitled, that have only ever known a successful and dominant era of football at the club. Unlike some if us many of today's fans haven't watched us in tumbledown stadiums battling to stave of relegation from Division 2.

When this unbroken 20 year period of dominance was the forcibly brought to an end he then completely wiped the slate clean of the debt he was owed and effectively gave the billions from the sale to David Cameron.

I'm sorry, I'm failing to see how this guy has ruiniously led us to the brink of oblivion. Any FFP sanctions and deterioration of the clubs fortunes can only be laid at the door of the current ownership.

I'm not convinced the Clearwater people will take our supporters into account in their decision making process 🤔 There's a 'we know best' vibe about them.

They hinted at something like this in a presser not so long ago, intimating that fan reaction and perspective can be a hindrance to the "project".

First talks between Bayern Munich and Xabi Alonso have taken place; should he leave Leverkusen this summer he is more likely to join Bayern than Liverpool, where he feels he could lose more than he could win.

A fee between €15-€25 million would be due, depending on the number of titles he wins.

Good, I really hope he turns down Liverpool. Mightily impressive what he’s done with Leverkusen

Compared to De Zerbi it's like night and day

This is exactly what has concerned me the most about our side. Looking at those clips. Assured passing to the right feet at the right pace, slick passing, one touch, two touch at most.  Energetic movement off the ball and shoot, shoot, shoot.

We have the players to do this. It is just lazy, ineffectual management and training and an under appreciation that these minute details are the most important aspects of any successful side.

I genuinely cringe when I see us work our way out of a press, clip the ball upfield or to the wings and Jackson (substitute for pretty much any name) takes three touches to get the ball under control, gets it trapped under his feet when running with the ball and then under hits the pass to a running play with the ball going behind them. It happens so often to us and destroys the foundations of anything we try to do.

Really is annoying though how easy Bayern have it and how that entire county/league caters to them.

But agreed. f**k Liverpool. Hope they end up with Thomas Frank.

Exactly.

Jesse Marsch really wouldn't surprise me at this stage tbh

I thought this. How can Leverkusen,  on the brink of winning the Bundesliga, after the last day choking the Dortmund experienced, not kick off massively about Bayern and Alonso already opening discussions.

That's the reality of German league, once a decade Bayern will let the other team wins the league, but grab it back straight away the following season with recruitment directly from the main rivals. Leverkusen may not even have a chance to do a street parade before their team and coaching roster is ripped apart.

The De Zerbi hype has dies on me a bit, they lost a few players and got blown away by the likes of Luton and Fulham. Their performance against the so called big teams haven't been great either. It's very similar to Potter, when he wins a game the media calls him the next big thing, nobody pays attention when he loses. He won't have that luxury at a bigger team.

Tbh at the minute I'm not too worried about whether he or any manager could propel us to the title.

Get us well coached again and then we can worry about taking the next step.

Maybe if we go for De Zerbi he'll get the best out of Mudryk, since he was his manager at Shakthar. I think of the options available: De Zerbi, Amorim, Alonso, etc... he seems the most likely and probably the best choice. Though it's annoying going to Brighton yet again

It is quite easy to get the best out Mudryk if you want to nuke the whole team balance.

Depends on what's the criteria of a well coached team, whether it's able to put 30 passes together or some slick set pieces move, or actually getting results and move up the table.

Any manager comes in will carry a big risk due to the current recruitment model, realistically the best thing is Poch started to get a string and good results and buy himself another year. So far, he hasn't helped his own case that well.

Go and get Danny rohl. Performing wonders at Sheffield Wednesday.

It's a higher standard than Alonso was at before he went to Leverkusen.

I'm not being entirely serious, but I would rather we went for him than De Zerbi or Flick.

Agreed ,not so much about Roe but I just don't want to go back to Brighton for anything .. we've been striped enough .

Would be such a disappointing move, Alonso manages a team that finally beats Bayerns to the title only for him to join Bayern the next summer. It's also questionable morally, building a great relationship with the fans only to join their league title rivals. If I were a Leverkusen fan I'd be livid.

Just because we were crap last season (and even then a lot of the performances in Potter's last month or two eclipse anything we've seen from Poch) doesn't mean Poch can't be crap.

Two things can be true. And this is more than about just results, even if we were doing a United and sh*thousing our way into outside top 5 contention the problems many are having with him will still be there.

Sacking the last three managers has or hasn't worked? with each manager we saw a bounce into the top 4 did we? patterns of play improved? our defence tighten? we saw play improve did we? the team played like a team or as individuals? the club suddenly shot up the league table and we qualified for European football? we saw all that under tuchel/Potter and Lamps? Did we progress last season? We won games against all the lower ranked sides right and qualified for the Champions League?

We are outside top 5 contention, we are in united position.

The "problems" many moaners are having won't go away with a new manager, they'll just be transferred onto the new manager and in six months times you will get out the broken record players and start scratching out the same tunes. Win lose or draw, you guys will find something to complain bitterly about.

Fair enough, I thought you'd be mature enough to actually have a conversation about it but if you feel the need to try and get personal and call me a man child because my opinion is different to yours then you can go and bore someone else.

I think most of the posts from whining fans are like man Childs. you included. the whinging, sniping, constant refusal to get behind a team of young players is frankly weird given the Sh*t the club continues to find itself in and you all call yourself supporters but dont act like it. You're all living on past glories and tbh, that's what the dippers did for 30 years. become a dipper and cry into your pints for the next 30 years - We not celebrating winning the league,  we used to celebrate like gooners getting the top 4. how pathetic is that?

I want the club to grow back into a top 4 side. Im happy to apply patience. the managers dont bother me, they come and go, but I do think it all needs evaluating at the end of the season. We will be back in square one if we ditch another manager now. I wonder what you'll all think if we get a points deduction and relegation, then what? who will manage us then?

And here's the final thing about you moaning fans. Imagine getting a 20 point deduction. that would currently relegate us.

Imagine if the fans, over the course of the season had created an atmosphere in the bridge that helped players play with more confidence, instead of jeering/booing the team, trashing the best players, owners, manager or whatever and we actually saw a confident team run out at the bridge not afraid to make mistakes. Imagine if that support translates into six/ nine more points this season, even with a possible 20 point deduction we'd avoid relegation.

It's a team game be it on the pitch or from us in the stands.

Im going to support the team now, that includes the manager and backroom staff. you lot can all snipe away, youre entitled to it, but count me out of it.
