August 20, 20178 yr Return of the Don. Very happy with the result. We were there for the taking today given our injuries, suspensions, lack of squad depth and match fitness but it was a solid if unspectacular team display. Let's get a couple more bodies in by the end of the transfer window and show the rest of the league just why we're champions. Edited August 20, 20178 yr by ForeverCarefree

And he deserves that celebrations after all the criticisms he got the past weeks.
August 20, 20178 yr Best thing is media can't slate us at all for this game. All our goals were legit and they only scored through Bats. No controversy or anything.
August 20, 20178 yr Souness - "Alonso's never scored a freekick like that in training, let alone in a game". What a twat, has clearly never watched Alonso hit a deadball.
August 20, 20178 yr it's a shame kante and alonso can't share the motm award. shout out to rudiger and christensen in the 2nd half. the first half they were shaky, but after half time both of them looked really solid and played well. bakayoko had a good game considering coming from injury and first game in the league against f**king spurs. i didn't think he was match fit in first half, but he had a good game. i am looking forward to see what he can do. willian was average and surprised me how he slowed down too much and never was able to pick out a pass like usual, but his shot was well taken. the team needs time to become a cohesive unit. after having a short pre-season and injuries too they haven't got to play with one another enough, but today was a really positive performance against spurs' best team. if we can get in a couple more players and get hazard back it would be brilliant.
August 20, 20178 yr I know the season is early in but these exact 3 points are huge! Great feeling to prepare for Everton. Media off our backs for a week.

But I missed those long balls from fabregas. Most of luiz's long passes were wasted today. Why cant we use today's formation with hazard in place of willian and fabregas in place of luiz/kante/bakayoko. I would really like to see how that works out.

August 20, 20178 yr So according to Souness, Alonso only scores free kicks like that in training. Well yeah apart from those he banged in last season, f**king clown.

August 20, 20178 yr Wow, what a response from the boys today. So proud of each & every one of them. Great team performance today but special mentions to Luiz, Alonso, Kante & Christensen. So down when Bats put through his own net and fearing we would go on to lose only for Alonso to bring sheer JOY! That's what football is all about - the highs & lows. So so happy to beat that lot - CHELSEA ARE BACK!!
