Disappointing, but i can understand it. Perhaps he wasn't actually experienced enough and they'll bring their own people in who are, but do these people know football? Or Chelsea?

The only positive i can draw is to look at the Dodgers, their transformation has been amazing, but this window is already looking grim (granted it's barley been open) the teams ahead have strengthened immensely, and the ones chasing us barring Utd have also been busy.

It’s difficult to process as we don’t really know how good he was at his job. We know very little so it’s hard to say if this is good or not. Though Tuchel did say he enjoyed working with Petr and Marina but I’m assuming he is enjoying having the responsibility to pick his own targets rather than having “club targets”.

Chelsea owner Boehly is exploring options for the new director to replace Marina. One of many candidates is former fullback Maxwell - was already assistant sporting director at PSG. 🔵 #CFC

Boehly has 3/4 options in the list, including Michael Edwards. No decision yet.

Edwards would be signing of the season. But I don't hold much hope.

A lot of change behind the scenes, which is always creates anxiety.

I suspect the new owners want to lay the foundations of their vision as soon as possible, so I don't mind all these changes. Time will tell how it works out.

Big Pete has been a great servant for the club. Wish him well.

With all the old guard gone and stories of us trying to get Ronaldo, I am not hugely impressed so far.

Let's not forget the scrappage scheme we are trying to implement with any of the players we're linked with. I'm surporsied we didn't try to use Cech as a makeweight to help us get Raphinha

from what I am reading, the ties to the fans are being done at the board level (this was already in place before Petr leaving), and despite TB asking Petr to stay a few times, Petr himself has asked to leave.  Lets maybe hold off bashing new ownership already

Yeah marina and Bruce always going to leave. Petr who knows.

If I had to guess, I'd say that Petr angled for the football directors role and was told no. And so decided to leave. Which is fair enough on all parts (although I think he'd be an excellent football director)

Letting someone like Big Pete go could cause a bit of disconnect between the club & fans. It’s a shame.

Terry is back working with the academy and I'm sure Joe Cole is still lurking around somewhere, not to mention the next generation Mount, James etc look primed to follow their lead anyway.

We also don't want to end up like Man Utd where we are clinging onto our former players in every department of the club versus hiring people more qualified for the position. Terry at the Academy and our other former players are still a good number IMO

Ronaldo story is inaccurate as far as I can tell. It seems like the other way around where his agent is tapping up multiple potential clubs he could join (which may have included Chelsea) versus us actively interested in signing him.

shame to see him go, i have massive respect for him, great as a man and as a player

Had  a lot of respect for Petr before this, but had so much mmore for him after he came out and spoke directly with supporters regsrding the super league. so many hid behind the club or thomas tuchel - on every front, not just super league for that matter.
