September 7, 20223 yr Utter madness. Yes we've been poor, but they've just spent all summer buying targets Tuchel wanted, only to sack him after 6 games. Now whoever comes in is going to want to play a different way. New owners, same old CHelsea. f**king idiots from the ground up.
September 7, 20223 yr Did Boehly realize last night was NOT a knock out game? There are still 5 games to go 😬 Just imaging the awkward conversation Tuchel and Boehly had ( or not had ) last night. TT: thanks for the late signings, not the best debut, but Auba will start scoring soon.. TB: No worries, BTW you are no longer working for the club, thanks man.
September 7, 20223 yr This bloke is a fool, a rich fool. The fans will want him out by Christmas when the new gaffer struggles to turn crap into gold. Could be the shortest ownership we ever had.
September 7, 20223 yr Absolutely ridiculous decision but clearly been coming a while judging by the general mood around the club. Once again player power loses another world class manager there job. Thank you for everything Tommy T.
September 7, 20223 yr I’m stunned. Had noted difficult conversations were likely taking place, but thought he’d atleast see thru the WC in an attempt to change things. They must already be talking to someone, right? What if Potter, Zidane or Poch all turned us down!
September 7, 20223 yr poor poor poor decision How do you fire a champions league winning manager when we are only 5 points off the the top of the table and only 5 games in the UCL

September 7, 20223 yr My suspicion is the new owners want a complete clear out and rebuild, ie make this 100 percent their club. I'm not entirely against it. I think it hypothetically to be good in the long run, but suspect they'll are ill equipped to oversee it. I am already very skeptical this new ownership will be successful. Too much, too fast, with no replacements in line.

None of the three will throw their hat in the ring, Why would any of them work for an organisation that now has zero football knowledge? There's no DOF, no head of scouting and not a single board member who knows how European football operates. Boehly and co will be taking advice from the agents who so clearly have his ear. Forget Potter or Zidane. Boehly is about value and PR, and he'll make a play to bring back Mourinho to assuage the fans. Failing that, we'll get Jesse Marsch,
September 7, 20223 yr It's all part of the Grand Plan ...this is Hollywood baby...Pulisic will be made Captain, Marche will be Manager, Ryan Reynolds Director of football..it's coming

Tuchel was the last part of the old Chelsea, his firing completely makes this Todd's chelsea now. Edited September 7, 20223 yr by Frankie8Lampard
September 7, 20223 yr Had more time to come to terms with this now, and honestly this has been coming. New owners will bring their own approach. I think they gave Tuchel a big chance, but they have seen enough to address what is in the best long term interests of the club. Remove the emotion, the facts do not lie: Terrible results this season (42% win percentage, 42% loss) - that pattern stretches back to April. Barely improved, but to me this actually goes back to Nov 6, 2021 vs Burnley This seasons wins are awful as well - Everton (barely won, was a penalty), Leicester (we were lucky) and West Ham (really poor performance) The manner of the performances - slow, boring performances The lack of ability to change games - when do we ever overturn a match Assessment of players. I still do not believe Lukaku, Werner, Ziyech, Pulisic, Odoi can all be bad players. The are all starved of any service Players cutting the most frustrated figures on the pitch I have the utmost respect for Tuchel - will always be remembered for what he did for Chelsea. I thought he'd get thru the WC at least, but his stubbornness was his eventual undoing.

September 7, 20223 yr I suspected new owners would want their own people, though they have acted in a ridiculous manner in my opinion. Either sack TT and appoint someone in preseason, or if you give him the window to sign players and use him as pseudo director of football, give him some time to get them implemented. What a waste of 250mill and a window. Utterly ridiculous timing.
September 7, 20223 yr £13M pay off for Tuchel, £2M for his staff, and £10+M compensation for Potter going to Brighton ... and so another £25+M goes "poof" into fresh air ... quite staggering how much money we can make disappear at this club ...

You did not factor in compensation for potters staff.

It gave some training and on the pitch continuity we needed, especially given the significant off the field changes taking place. I agree the timing is surprising, but results don't lie. They'll have made their decision on performances prior to owning, since interest (April), the summer preseason, and now the season proper. This has been coming. We're in for a cultural overhaul - TT was given a chance to be part of that, but in a results business he was not delivering. Hard to say, but true.
