Dare I suggest we contact Mourinho?
If he’d be up for the challenge again I’d give him the job in a heartbeat, considering the circumstances.

F*ck no.

He will fall out with the players and throw them under the bus like he always does.

His football is outdated. Look at Man United ffs. Under Mourinho 11 points behind us. He leaves, they’re 4th now. Say whatever you want about Man United but that squad clearly is capable of a top 4 finish.

Benitez?

Why?

The state we were in when Mourinho was sacked the second time is the worst state the club has been in, in the last 30 years.

He then went to United and spent £300M+, didn't mount a title challenge in 3 seasons (finishing 6th in his first) lost the dressing room, and got sacked with them in 6th.

It is complete and utter madness to think that bringing Mourinho back is going to go well.

This may be controversial, but I feel any top class attacking managers will not do any better than Sarri.

For this season it feels if we are to salvage our season then get a defensive or counter attacking manager in, which I’d rather not do because we want to see attacking football here after so many years of defensive football.

Sarri was playing the most attractive brand of football in the world, arguably more attractive than Guardiola. Give him time.

After the way we treated Conte I wouldn't be surprised to see Sarri sacked.

How so?

I actually think that, despite the clubs reputation for sacking Managers prematurely, we actually gave both Mourinho (second spell) & Conte well over what they would have expected in terms of time to turn it around. We certainly didn't panic and pull the trigger at the first sign of trouble, that's for sure.

I have been critical in the past (Mourinho first spell & Ancellotti both unforgivable sackings), but over the last 5 years or so I actually think we have tried to weather the storm and ride it out, but we had little choice in the end.

The situation with Mourinho was farcical and couldn't be allowed to continue (we were hovering above the relegation zone with a dressing room clearly in complete disarray).

And Conte made his feelings very clear and publically attacked the board, on the back of a very poor league season. He didn't want to stay, and he made that very obvious. It was a toxic relationship and one which I think everyone knew had to be changed.

So whilst nothing would surprise me, I am not expecting Sarri to be sacked any time soon.

Regardless of what anyone thinks about Sarri, I am not sure what message people think it would send to the watching football world if we were to abandon the 'project' at this stage.

Unfortunately it will be Sarri's head that rolls, yet the players will always remain. The club f**king hands some of these players new contracts as a way to say "thanks" despite showing nothing for one and a half seasons.

In the PL there is no time to transition unless, as I've said before, our expectations are lessened. I don't see what sacking him is going to achieve I really don't. We will be in the same position again.

There are also very few managers who will look at Chelsea as an attractive option eventually because they know there's no patience given to the manager. Meanwhile the players will stay and continue to put in mediocre performances.

This has been simmering for ages. It's the culmination of poor player recruitment and terrible club vision. Simple as that. People seem to be very short termism. We have been spoiled by previous success, but guess what? It does not last forever without a clear vision.

Also let’s not forget Guardiola, the god of football like some think, lost 4-0 against Everton in his first year.

He also had better players than we have this season, and a team already accustomed to attacking football. The problem is the club to the core is rotten, and going by Sarri's post match interview, Roman isn't even interested.

f**king joke! There's a reason Pep refused to come to Chelsea and apparently told Roman he would need 10 new players.

Roman needs to invest in big personality players.

Otherwise top 5 is the max no matter who is the manager.

I'd agree with this. No current leaders in this current squad, no one who will kick off in the changing room after poor peformances. We currently have no one in the Lampard, Drogba, JT, Ballack ilk who were all leaders and all got what it meant to be Chelsea.

4-0 to Everton, 4-2 to Leicester, 3-1 to Monaco IIRC.

Liverpool lost 5-0 to City last season.

That's football. It happens.

Back Sarri

Sick of player power winning again

If Hazard wants to leave, he can go.

If any of them want to leave, they can go.

We've created a toxic culture. Time to change the tide.

The tide should have been changed years ago when we had great managers at our disposal. Sarri is an inferior manager compared to his two full time predecessors.

Whether supporters are in favour of keeping or sacking him, I don't think anyone is in doubt that the culture of the club is toxic and needs urgent change.

Dare i say give Zola an interim / trial position and see whether he has the same effect Solskjaer has had with Man Utd.

Not making top 4 with Sarri, so what do we have to lose.

Or perhaps it’s a business protecting multi-million pound assets? You slaughter the club for anything but refuse to accept any criticism of Sarri, it’s so conflicting.

In.

Sarri needs a few transfer windows and a full pre-season before he can be truly judged.

We're still well in with a shout of top 4 and have an excellent chance of winning a trophy - and this is all in our year of transition.

Obviously it's horrible getting battered, but I don't think you can put all of that on the coach. I just don't think our defense is good enough at the moment - far too many individual errors. That's the area I'd be looking to strengthen above all others.

I still don't think yesterday's performance/display was as bad as the same fixture last year where we didn't even try and get into the opponent's half of the pitch. 1st goal yesterday was due to the defense falling asleep, 2nd goal a worldie from outside of the box, 3rd goal suicidal header back from Barkley and the 4th goal another strike from outside the box which perhaps Kepa could have done better with.

Our next few matches before the final are huge, but I fully expect us to bounce back. It might sound crazy, but I'm also confident that we'll beat City in the final - the players won't need much motivation for that match, they'll be out for revenge.

At 5.45pm yesterday I wanted Sarri out - no question about it.

But have calmed somewhat and honestly don't fancy the idea of another interim. IMO, Zola should never have been appointed as No. 2. Legend yes, but poor track record since he hung up his boots and he comes across as a yes man. So f**k knows who they would appoint if Sarri gets the boot. However, he HAS to learn that trying the same thing over & over when it clearly ain't working, WILL end up costing him his job. Next 5 games are the two Europa games v Malmo, Utd in the Cup, City in the final and then Spurs in the league. That's a tough run of games and after that little lot, if he is still in a job I'll take my hat of to him but if we lose the league and domestic cup games I think his time will be up.

Yeah he’s really hot property right now.

We shouldn't have a fascination with getting a top four spot this year, What exactly are we going to do in the Champions League anyway?

I thought it was about the money from qualifying and a share of TV rights important with all this emphasis on FPP.

Not to discount it also makes us more favourable for players wanting to appear on the top stage to enhance their national team prospects.

Earn lots of money, have a greater chance of attracting top class players this summer, higher chance of keeping Eden Hazard at the club and with a proper manager we could very well get into the knockout-stages.

We absolutely need top 4. Accepting less for the second season in a row is a slippery slope and one that will leave us even further behind the best teams in this league.

We need to do something right now to try to salvage this season.
