Think it was Tuchel who actually played him and turned into the player he is now

A lot of the negative statements being touted by the Athletic, people need to realize that a lot of the statements are coming from insiders who want Lampard gone so are not exactly going to be giving a glowing review.

For example only talking to people he likes, the guy has always backed Kepa despite his absolutely atrocious form for the full Lampard tenure. Lampad made mistakes but I don't for 1 minute believe he would deliberately ostracize players and damage squad relations without good reason.

I’m not sure about that - the Athletic article also states we only signed one player requested by Frank and the rest were not his choices; hardly something which would be disclosed by someone who wanted to show him in a bad light.

Only a stupid business man will see his business going down the toilet and not do what he can to rescue it, especially when the management in place have not shown the capability to get the business to thrive. Not from history, past performance or current performance.

Anybody that honestly thought the appointment of Lampard was our attainment of managerial bliss is a joker and to all the old timers that feel betrayed, sickened, fed up, are done...... so many funny things I've read from you lot.

From your downright condescending tones to other posters, challenging their credibility as Chelsea fans because they prefer to look at the facts and make a call on them rather than emotions and blind hope to taking the moral high ground. You can get on your sanctimonious high horses and ride into the sunset.

Frank should go and learn his trade more. No team in current top 10 would have hired him so all those saying Chelsea have used him when no one would touch us and dumped him now we have money to spend, it goes both ways. He was always going to be a failure at Chelsea ultimately because he was ill equipped for the role but we have done a world of good to his future career prospects as having it on his CV ex manager of Chelsea basically is a foot in the door for most jobs at his level.

Pulisic signed with Dortmund in February 2015. Klopp was still coaching them at this stage.

He didn't get proper first-team action with them until January 2016 when Tuchel was coaching them.

Well Chilwell Frank definitely wanted. But are we really saying he didn't want Silva or Werner - he flew out to meet Werner! Maybe he didn't want Mendy, but who did he want instead - Mendy was a great signing for the price and clearly backed by Cech. Whilst Ziyech is also a great signing.

I just don't trust most of the things the papers say. But if anyone is saying Frank didn't get the players he wanted and we should feel sorry for him for that reason, is really twisting the events to their own means.

IFelt it was inevitable these last few weeks. I'm sad but it was the right decision. We were going nowhere but down.

Credit to Frank for coming in during an impossible situation and turning it around. After Sarri put us in a coma, Frank did rejuvenate the club and the supporters. So full kudos to him for that.

Onwards we march. Hopefully the next manager lasts  more than 2 years. Jose really jinxed the job under Roman's reign when we fired  him the first time around.

See that's the sort of glory-hunting nonsense that is at the root of all this.  5 points off top 4 and only 6 matches lost in the league all season and people like you see that as "going down the toilet".

Self-entitled spoilt brat doesn't even come close,,

Oh do one please, I'm glory hunting because I prefer to see things from the perspective of the owner who ultimately to him Chelsea is a business and not a pastime or passion as it is for you?

It's embarrassing for whoever recruits the players that we have spent £280M on midfielders and still don't have a decently performing DM or AM ... Frank asking repeatedly for Rice just emphasises the magnitude of that embarrassment ...

Jorginho £51M, Kovacic £40M, Havertz £72M, Kante £32M, Drinkwater £34M, Bakayoko £36M, Barkley £15M  ...

Then factor in the large fees for Kepa and Werner, neither of whom seem to have many of the basics of football let alone the advanced stuff ... far easier to blame the coach than the players and whoever signed them ...

Kante for 32m was amazing for us? Just because he's gone downhill now doesnt mean he was a bad signing. Kovacic was our player of the year last season?

Havertz and Werner its still early days but the signs of a good player is definitely there, Bakayoko and Barkley we'll probably make back most the money spent on them so thats not too bad.

Drinkwater was a complete failure I admit and the same goes for Kepa, but even Jorginho has had his good moments.

I would understand if the club had someone world class lined up like Klopp & Guardiola but Tuchel just seems like a underwhelming short term fix who is not even a yes man so will basically clash with the board come the summer.

He didn't cover himself in glory during the racism row earlier this season and has already rejected us for PSG before, not exactly the glamorous appointment you dump a club legend for.

Roman is Billionare you dont get to be that without making tough decisions. I dont think he cares about sentiment he wants to win.

Only one of 1 of 6 signing were his apperently, but i don't really believe it.

Wasn't it because of him we got Werner and Havertz. All the reports where Frank and Pete went to germany  to convince them was just a concession to the club from Frank?

Mendy was on Cech and likely the best option at the time.

Ziyech was also on Lampard even tho he came half a window later.

Chillwell he got him.

Yes he didn't get Rice but with all the other backing i dont think you can pin this on the board.

Hey YB -long time, hope you are doing well!

I would challenge the perception that the business only relates to league position.

70mil kepa benched

75mill Kai benched

60mill jorgi benched

40 mill  kova benched

35 mill Werner benched

Alonso missing, last seen on the team bus months ago.

All those players benched, and also playing like crap.

I am not saying he was right or wrong to drop those players, but rightly or wrongly, from a business perspective,  perhaps the club expected Frank to have done more to protect and get the most out of these investments.

still sad of course -  but I can understand rationale.

No but, as I said, it’s hardly showing Frank in a bad light saying he wasn’t backed with the players he wanted so would be an interesting take that the Athletic’s source was someone who wanted him gone.
