Standard defensive performance. Awful all around, especially Christensen.

I’d be happy to never see that boy in a Chelsea shirt again I’ve never liked him as a player

Hope Lampard tears those defenders a new arsehole after the game. If he’s happy telling youngsters they’re not good enough he needs to bollocks these so called veterans. Let the badge down tonight, not good enough to wear the shirt.

Not sure it will even matter. We don't have any top quality defenders. They are all average or above average, but nobody spectacular. The defence should have been strengthened under Conte when he apparently wanted VVD.

To make it worse we conceded 3 goals, 3 goals to a bottom 4 side. Home or away matters not since there is no fans, atmosphere.

Frank is walking the plank if he persists with that defence and if he does its his own fault, everyone on here can see it so surely he can too.

I’m not sure what’s worse

winning the game to give the dippers the title

or giving this lot 6 points to stay up ffs

plainly not good enough. Whoever is coaching these defenders needs sacking!!

all 4 plus the gk are shockingly bad. Tomori has to play now

Honestly, every time we play the rubbish teams, we get beaten and outplayed. What the hell is the matter with the players.

You’ve just thrown top 4 wide open and put pressure on yourselves. Well done.

i am starting to think that Frank is not the man for the job to bring the title back to Chelsea, He has been out done tactically in so many games and if you cannot motivate your players to beat this shower than you are far away from a top manager. Granted he is still learning, but I think there are 4-5 teams out there with better managers than Frank, sorry to say that. And we are blaming the defenders, but the hell is he doing in training?  if you cannot correct the same mistakes all seasons, than you are clearly doing something wrong.

I think we will continue to suffer in the next seasons with this group of players

Are you kidding me how do you train a defender to not toe poke a ball into a corner with no one around.. or a keeper not to come flying out.. the only thing you can blame frank is for playing Rudi over ZOuma.. Rudi is playing championship level football..

Utter f**king sh*te from a bunch of lazy arrogant and talentless twats. I’ve seen better from pissed up fat lads on council pitches on Sunday mornings. I’m going back into lockdown. These are depressing enough times without subjecting myself to watching that f**king dross. I miss when we were entertaining to watch. Oh to be able to travel back to watching Vialli and Poyet et al. We could lose and be entertaining then. Now we’re dull to watch even if we win.

I've No Idea How Many Times We Just Slow The Play Down To Walking Speed, We Then Seem To Wonder How They've Got Back Into A Good Shape, We Then Pass It Back To The CB's Who Basically Play 1-2 With Each Other

Thousands of times. This has been going on for years no matter who the manager is.

Do you understand football? Do you understand who picks the team? Who sets us up defensively at set pieces? The players don’t pick who plays... the players don’t choose how to set up defensively. It’s done by the manager which is....

You guessed it - Frank. I’ve given him credit when he’s changed the game with his subs in recent weeks so I’ll bloody well criticise him when he can’t set us up to defend a simple corner. It’s shocking how bad we are at it for a team at this level, there’s better defending in Sunday league games.

Massive opportunity missed, but still 4th.

What have we learned ? Mount and Giroud have to play every game.

He has to sort the midfield out. yet another selection that just didn't work ... trying to shoehorn Kante in this side just upsets the balance of everything, sad to say ... he is just the wrong type of midfielder for the way Frank wants to play. He doesn't have a role - not good enough holding, not enough technical ability or goal threat in the more advanced roles.

Abraham needs to buck his ideas up sharpish ... dreadful tonight ... looks like a timid little boy among men ...

Our 'style' of play is rubbish. Waffle the ball around in midfield for three minutes, Get the ball out to the right hand side so Azpi can put 200 crosses in and hope for the best. sh*te.

We are more predictable under Lampard than I have ever seen. Get two banks of four and stay tight compact and you will get a chance against us every time. Any decent premier league manager (ala Moyes) will exploit that. Pearsom at Watford will do the exact same I expect a another defeat Troy Deany enjoy that match.

Lampard has to wake up. This is not good enough.

He has been trying to find a consistent starting lineup whole season and has failed massively this game. We looked clueless and still scored twice so this shows some big training/preparation errors!

Well you should because he is right, that’s poor defensive coaching, defending is all about coaching, a good coach can turn bang average defenders into a solid unit. There’s no step overs or beating their man or elaborate moves, there is shape, covering and positioning all of which is done on the training ground.

What I don't understand is that this far faced with these issues on the back end the management went and got two attacking players.

Simply not good enough tonight. Wrong team picked at the start, anticipate the game better Frank. Giroud had to start. Defensively we had a shocker, Rudiger all over the place culminating in showing Yarmolenko in on his better left foot. Abraham not good enough tonight, he looks like a championship striker playing in a decent team. Terrible all around ultimately, we now possibly have to win at Anfield to get top four.

Doesn't help that he chops and changes the defence so frequently ...

Normally its an indicator of being gutless. The teams down the bottom fight harder. But that's not the case with this mob. Just hold your position, Chelsea will fck about with the ball in front of you and then break on them. There are enough cheats in the Chelsea team that a counter attack or a set piece always has a chance.

Losing 3-2 to a side like that, that didn't even play well, is really really poor. The win against City has been undone by that result. The defending was about as bad as I have seen it this season. It reminded me of all of those times I seen Arsenal's defence capitulate when somebody played counter attacking football with a physically powerful player up front.

Christensen is not a CB who will ever be good enough for a team hoping to challenge the top teams in this league. Any time he comes up against anybody with a little bit of strength, he pisses his pants.

Rudiger is too easily rattled these days and falls apart whenever any pressure is put on him. He was a bit of a hot head in his first two seasons with us, but it was much more controlled, these days though he has no composure. He was easily our best CB for a little while, not anymore though.
