May 31, 20215 yr A shining example for Harry Kane, Chiwell would earn buckets of money too if he just stick around Leicester too, it's about ambition.

May 31, 20215 yr I still think he needs to improve going forward despite his impressive g/a numbers but got zero complaints with him defensively, well and truly surpassed my expectations on that score.

Out of all our transfer last summer, Chillwell was the only one that was sure fire. His skillset fit perfectly of what we want, pretty much slot right in.

June 1, 20215 yr Noticed against City he changed his game when blocked on his left he kicked a high curling ball forward on his right, like Alonso does. First time I have seen Chilwell do this and it kept us on the front foot. Nice to see him add another technique to his game.
July 3, 20215 yr How on Earth is shaw getting a played over chillwell, I don’t see it he has no football brain
July 3, 20215 yr Tbf shaw is playing well. What completely baffles me is how Chilwell won a Champions league a few weeks ago. And when England are 4-0 up with 10 minutes to go, and he decides to rest Shaw, instead of finally giving the only other left back a run out, he brings on Trippier, im mean f$&$;$&$&#.

He is just a lucky manager this time. Sh*t group, sh*t QF opponent. Poorest Germany side in ages and now the Danes to make a final. He messes up against generally good teams, of which England have faced 0. TT on the other hand is a top manager and plays Chilwell. Go figure.

Trippier is a top full back and better defensively than Chilwell and can play left back as well. Chilwell would only play if Shaw was injured and we played 4atb, Trippier will play if we go 5atb. Much better to give minutes to the person more likely to play. Let's not obsess over one of our players not being picked. Shaw has been world class, Trippier is our best defensive full back. Chilwell gets a nice holiday and will come back fresh for us in August.
August 30, 20214 yr Chilwell has apparently not been playing because he isn't quite fit yet: Tuchel: "For Ben Chilwell, it's very easy, he came back with the latest group [after the Euros and holiday]. "When he arrived Marcos Alonso had five weeks in his legs from pre-season. He played the first competitive matches after a fantastic pre-season. He was simply way more ready physically which was natural because of the training session and his fantastic games. "He played the Super Cup final and three Premier League games. Also, we only have three substitutions allowed and this is a huge problem. "Chilly needed his time in training to adapt to the intensity. He is ready now but now wasn't the time to push him into the cold water. "It is a bit sad because you have more tactical opportunities if you have five changes. I don't understand the arguments of the little teams that they have a disadvantage in this case. I was also a coach of a little team and I would have loved to have five players available. "I would have made them run 16 kilometres against the top teams. I think it is a huge disadvantage in general in Europe but why do I complain?"
September 11, 20214 yr Hasn't played a game of competitive football since the Champions League final. He must be wondering what he has done wrong.

September 11, 20214 yr Don't worry all, Chilwell knows not to be concerned. We're currently nearing the end of the standard 'Alonso arc'. The Alonso arc consists of the following: Alonso will have a run of five or six excellent games at left-wing-back (usually after a formation switch/injury/new season/inability to tolerate Emerson any longer). He will score at least one free kick, and in at least one game he will be our best attacking player. Then, he will do something unthinkably stupid in consecutive games (the 'ill-timed header' against Liverpool was the first). He will at this point be dropped for a more sensible alternative, at which point we'll go "Oh yeah, that's why we don't start him".
September 11, 20214 yr A perfect storm of a short preseason and Alonso playing well. Chilwell will be back as our starter eventually.

September 11, 20214 yr Just now, Deino said: We're 4 games in. I'd agree with you if he still doesn't play after 10 games I was including international football in that. He didn't play a single second at the Euro's, he was one of the only players who didn't. Same again with the international break.

September 12, 20214 yr I never thought the Bench.ilwell joke would actually become usable. Well it's nice that Tuchel indeed plays players on merit. Alonso went from nearly being sold to 1st choice.
September 12, 20214 yr Tuchel is picking on form than reputation, and Chiwell hasn't got fitness or forms to show. I'm pretty sure he will play in the Zenit game. Edited September 12, 20214 yr by icecoolguy22
