Playing with 5 at the back against dinamo zagreb is just awful especially when we signed about 200 million worth of talent in defence. Fofana and koulibaly can play together in that defence, we dont need a third in there, in my mind that is a complete waste and if tuchel persists of Playing 5 at the back than he deserves to be replaced if am totally honest.

The Europa League was nice to win, but the only reason we were in the tournament to begin with was because the previous season was such a f**k up. The Champions League win was a nice distraction from what was yet again, another season that was painful to sit through. The Europa League and Champions League wins can be summed up as good endings to a sh*t a season.

Of course it’s not working as well as it did when the league has been completely dominated by city who have the richest owners and arguably best manager in the world at the helm, over the period you’re referencing. Sticking with him won’t change that though. City are lightyears ahead of us.

On a more serious note, we are not sacking Tuchel for one key reason. There is no one else out there better. If there was an Ancelotti or Conte who we could go get sure thing, but there isn't. 

The only serious candidate in my view is Pochettino and he probably wouldn't join due to his connection to Spurs.  Anyone out there who thinks we'd sack Tuchel for Potter needs to go to bed.

I'd take Conte back, if he'd come. If he'd had the backing TUchel has got from the new owners, I think he'd do better.

Of course he would. We have made two major managerial f**k-ups in the Abramovich era:

One was sacking Carlo for AVB (arguably the worst call imo)

Second was sacking Conte for Sarri.

My sincere hope is that both return to manage the club in the future. But as I said above, neither are available. So it's a moot point.

It hasn’t been brilliant has it..some terrible performances. 
 

However I’m still backing Tuchel. Other than Poch (urgh), there may no other managers out there and we have to go beyond simply sacking managers and looking for boom and bust. 
 

We've done 51 transactions this summer. That’s a HUGE amount and the squad is unsettled. It will take time to gel and settle down. 

I’m still in the back him camp, but I’m worried, seriously worried.

He’s lucky Roman isn’t still in charge otherwise I think he would be under serious pressure now.

Even after a poor start to the season I'll be surprised if the new owners get rid of Tuchel any time soon, unless we go into total freefall. Perhaps if we are still underperforming in the league, and we fail to make it out of the Champions League group, they will decide to replace him during the mid-season break. But otherwise, I reckon he will likely get the rest of the season. A lot may depend on the hiring of a Director of Football though. Boehly would be wise to let whoever that is lead the decision making when it comes to a new manager. Whether that be this season, of years from now.

TT is our current head of scout, director of football and public face of the club

And that is a big part of the problem in my opinion. He is being distracted from the one job we need him to do well.

Rudiger is looking a very big miss. 

The only factors that have affected our performance under Thomas has been injuries and signings.

Our best football came when we signed nobody. Even adding one player ie Lukaku was enough to degrade us but the more that come in the worse it gets.

yes he looks very much overburdened. 
 

i hope he can return us to how we played in the beginning of his first full season. When we had some fight and were hard to beat.

oh and for people who want mourinho back: he just lost 4-0 against Udinese 

People can say what they want, but no ngolo kante no cigar. Its no coincidence our form plummets if he doesnt play.

In the short term I think the next 3 games will follow a similar pattern to the first games of the season. Hopefully we can pick up some points even if it isn't that inspiring, but I doubt we will see much in the way of changes. After that there is an international break. While many players are away on international duty, Tuchel will hopefully be able to use the time to sort things out a bit, and maybe we will see some improvement when things resume in October.
