I was not that enthusiastic about Sterling to move to Chelsea but he was okay tonight. Koulibaly also a very good new player. Glad that Chillwell is back.

The negativity on here is unreal.

Yes we’ve looked poor, we fail to create,  too much sideways/backwards passing, but we’ve just put 3 points on the board! Liverpool didn’t manage it today and that’s just football.

Hopefully some improvements come soon, especially with Spurs coming up, but again first win of the season and 3 points from 3 available so far.

Edit: And how long has it been since we won here in the league. Come on your blue!

That is exactly what everybody posted

Honestly forgot Pulisic was on the pitch until the commentator mentioned his name

Funny... I felt the same about Mount and Havertz who played three times the amount Pulisic did. Did those two even touch the ball?

Well the 3 points is the most important thing. Not the best performance. You could see signs early on that we were trying to do things a little different, with more balls over the top, but that petered out. Still a work in progress. Plus it's clear our pre-season wasn't up to scratch. The players were off riding theme park rides in the USA and doing marketing, when they should have been working on their fitness.

Great result.

awful attacking performance.

All our attacking players looked below their usual standards aside from Sterling and Pulisic and only the formers usual standard is premier league level.

Cucurella looked great which didn't surprise me as he's a level above Chilwell and  having watched Brighton a lot last year have no idea how anyone could think he's coming to be backup or depth.  He's top quality as is Koulibaly.

But without another attacker and a midfielder that offers more in possession (Kante is not it) we're going to have a lot of games like this going forward this season.

well, We're doing better than liverpool i guess!

Sterling left with no support, cbs struggling with their legs, Didnt look like a real threat up front but we played with good assurance

We need some more magic

Mason was the invisible man today. As long as it doesnt continue.

Typical first game of the season against a resolute Everton side.

Sterling looked good, Havertz & Mount were spare parts. Our midfield two just lack any spark, and how Pulisic gets game time is beyond me.

Apart from that it's good to take 3 points from that sh*thousery team.

A big part of it is also Tuchel, he continues with the same theme of last season where he's totally happy with having a 1:0 lead. I said it before and I'll said it again, we can't expect to win every game 1:0 so something needs to change.

Mount was busy wiping the touchline paint off his boots

That was just horrid.

It was the same old boring stuff + some. If this is how Tuchel want to play. Let's just sell Mount and Havertz and sign two winger in January. We have two no 10 and they receive the ball constantly on the wing.😱😱

In term of the new player

Koulibaly is better than Rudiger at passing between the line. He had a few excellent between the line pass today. He can be the key for us to unlock our left hand side with this  next guy.

Cucu can soon be my one my favorite player. Smashing pass, nice hair, what not to like.

Borja came in and  played as winger 😭😭

Mendy - 6 - Made 2 good saves, but was flapping from set pieces.

James - 3 - Probably his worst game in a Chelsea shirt. Awful from every set piece he took and so slow to react to everything.

Chilwell - 6 - Obviously going to take a bit of time before he gets back to his best. Still won the penalty that won us the game though.

Thiago Silva - 8 - Typical Silva, best player on the pitch.

Azpilicueta - 7 - Classic Azpilicueta.

Koulibaly - 6 - Had some decent moments but looked very leggy at times and needs a bit of adjusting to Premier League football.

Jorginho - 5 - Decent penalty, but too slow in our build up play.

Kante - 5 - Everywhere, put in a few decent tackles, but was terrible going forward.

Havertz - 3 - Did he play?

Mount - 4 - One decent shot in the first half, that was it.

Sterling - 6 - Good first half, really strong, getting in good positions, goal ruled out for offside. Poor in the second half though, nothing came off for him.

Subs were all pretty much the same apart from Cucurella who already looks good enough to come into the side.

Highly doubt Tuchel is 'happy' with just 1-0. If anything, he knew the attack was struggling and so he decided to manage the game by focusing on protecting the lead.
