The idea we might just be ‘up for it’ enough would have more credence if it wasn’t for the insane amount of injuries we have, so that ounce of hope isn’t even applicable. It would need an otherworldly amount of missed chances from Arse or a VAR/ref disasterclass

Not to mention @cocomade no mistakes in the title of this thread so we are doubly screwed...

In my opinion a good article by Jonathan Wilson in the Guardian today, which sums up the situation for today’s game quite well I think.

Patched-together Chelsea at odds with Potter’s wizard eye for a bargain

Basically, given the strengths of Arsenal in specific areas seem to match with areas that we are weakest in at the moment due to injuries ( Reece James vs Martinelli would have been good) it will be a tough game for us. Every option for formation seems a little bit awkward and there is no obvious solution. Thinking back to second half of Mankers game it was a similar challenge countered by us with a back 4 and a defensive diamond in midfield . I think that gives us best chance today too.

On our day we have the quality to hurt them. Come on Chelsea!!!

One thing I will say is Arsenal haven't been that impressive in their last three away games. They drew against Southampton, lost to PSV, and were fortunate to win the Leeds game in which Leeds missed a pen. For as good as they've been, their away form has been mediocre.

As much as I am lacking lots of optimism for this game and accept we aren't that good at the moment, Arsenal can be got at. This will require the players to show what they've got, both mentally and physically, and show Potter's tactical nous with his back up against the wall.

GAMEDAY!!!

I don't remember the moment when we were underdog against Arsenal, it's been a long way...

Anyways, I don't see a reason why we should have a fear or no faith in our team.

I know we aren't very impressive this season, but we still play in all competitions and have a big motivation to play, especially in this derby.

Beating Arsenal might give us a big confidence boost. Brighton made a joke from us, but if we want to show something different, this is the moment.

COME ON CHELS!!!!!

I just hope Potter doesn't come again with one of those weird line-ups where players are out of their positions and out of their depth.... Just make sure our midfield is packed and prevent them to run at you.Staffle them in your own half and  Aubameyang will do the rest.

I have to say that lineup doesn't fill me with confidence. In fact it's difficult to figure out what formation we play and who plays where.

Hopefully Potter knows what he's doing. Come on Chelsea!

The only way this half way makes sense is if this is a 4-3-3. If we're playing RLC as part of a 2 man midfield and Sterling at wing back we're going to get torn to shreds. Also I couldn't give a sh*t if Kovacic has one leg, he's still better than RLC in midfield.

Should have been

Mendy

Chalobah Silva K2 Cucurella

Zakaria Kovacic

RLC Mount Pulisic

Aubameyang

Or could it be

                     Mendy

Azpi Chalubah Silva Cucurella

 RLC.       Jorginho.  Mount

Havertz      Auba     Sterling?

Or just wishfull thinking.

Is anybody fit for that matter?

I’ve had to rule myself out unfortunately. I had a late night and I’m a big sleepy boy.

I think Zakaria isn’t starting due to his match fitness. He’s only played 69 minutes in the last few months.
