April 12, 20233 yr I think to win these games you need to close to perfect. We are making small mistakes in every department. Felix and Sterling need to so ALOT better at making the ball stick when it gets to them to relieve pressure. Win a free kick or a throw in, instead of just getting the ball taken off you with easy. Midfield has done okay, except Kova, who seems unable to dribble these days, and his passing has never been great. Fofana has had a poor 45, and I think Chilwell and James have to better. As expected really.

April 12, 20233 yr We're still in the game. It's actually not as bad as I feared. Surprised at the stick Enzo is getting. He's taking the ball in tight areas and generally progressing it. Nowhere near perfect but he is affecting the game. Koilibaly is doing a decent impression of Rudiger. Kepa has been decent and Kante had a brilliant first 15 minutes. Obviously Fofana can't come out for the second half. Poor lad is shot, James and Kova need to up it, Sterling off for Mudryk and Felix for Havertz.
April 12, 20233 yr Kovacic has been awful, completely gone missing. He's had a very average season so far.
April 12, 20233 yr I can't believe I'm saying this, but we would've been playing much better than this under Potter. At least we would've had some possession

Being pulled all over the place and then stand there like bollards to be played around. If we keep it at one I will be amazed, two and I think we are toast and the season will be over. We haven't had a sniff at goal and its the same old sh*te, 20 yards out and everyone's brain goes dead and no idea what to do with the ball.

April 12, 20233 yr Not sure why Félix and Sterling are getting so much stick. Outside of the first 10 minutes (and particularly the one time Kanté put Félix through on goal) they have had absolutely nothing to work with. We are desperately missing Mason Mount. Someone who can provide the off-the-ball presence and technical security of a centre mid, but who can also move the ball from the defence/midfield to the forward line or to an advancing wing-back. As soon as Real started pushing up we've hardly been able to get possession outside of our own half. That said, it could have been worse. They had opportunities to score more than one goal, and we haven't threatened them at all. We are at least still in a position to get back in the game. I also don't feel like Real have been particularly exceptional, nor have they defended particularly well. There's a game to be played if we want it, and if we do it right. On a positive note - great to see Azpilicueta back on the bench.

Outclassed, Out passed, Out moved. Not sure why Felix didn't cut inside so Alaba was behind him. Played it wide and arguably had a tougher angle.
