August 2, 20232 yr Again, it’s a lot of money for a loan farm signing. I hope the club know what they are doing and have a plan. I think we’ve bought enough youngsters now Todd..

Don't go the kidnapping route as @CaitlinCFCdid though, almost ended her relationship and left her with Munk as the only suitor... And don't go full on Val either, poor Carlo still hasn't managed to get out of her cellar.

I know sod all about him, and I`m certainly not going to make my mind up over a few youtube videos. So far in pre season ( and I realise its only pre season and difficult to really make a basis from those games) the signings have shown a hell of a lot of positives, Nkunku, Jackson, Santos, Gusto have all settled in incredibly well and have given us something to look forward to after a dreadful season and a half, and a few awful transfer windows. This alone should give us a reason to at least begin to trust the people behind the signings now, hopefully our fans give these young lads the chance to prove themselves and back them along with the new manager. Its going to be a difficult season and there will almost inevitably be a period where things go to sh*t, our fanbase is incredibly toxic now, especially on the social media sh*tshows, if they immediately get on these young lads backs because we arent winning 10-0 with 95% possession and 10xg then they will fail. Thats not aimed at you by the way JM7, your not one to buy into the misery of a certain section of our fanbase thankfully, but there's plenty who seem to enjoy our failure more than our success weirdly.

The talented ones we have enough of and apparently Pochettino thinks he's supposed to go on loan anyways. Pochettino's basically brought up the need for experience in every single interview/presser for about a month now so perhaps we should support the manager.
August 25, 20232 yr Limited pitch time so far, but like what he has shown in his short cameos. Certainly looks a good athlete.
August 26, 20232 yr He’s a bit of a giant in midfield - repeating myself from match day thread, but his stride eats up the ground like Yaya Toure. Actually quite keen to see him develop - assume he may start against Wimbledon.

Issue for me is there doesn’t seem to be any concrete plans for his development, and he is better than a bench option. Hypothetically if one of Fulham or Crystal Palace sold Palhinha or Doucoure before the deadline day, I would be loaning him out to them to get solid mins. At 19 he needs to be playing regularly not picking up scraps.
August 29, 20232 yr As Lukaku loan to Roma uses up last loan option abroad this fella stays with the squad it seems now. Hope he gets some minutes “Lukaku will take up a foreign loan slot, but that’s a relatively small price to pay. (Lesley Ugochukwu apparently set to stay as a result, which also isn’t the worst outcome.)” source WAGNH

August 29, 20232 yr Think both will go to U21. Moreira looks so far out of his element in men's first team football, and Washington has hardly any experience under his belt playing for a pretty poor Santos team.
September 18, 20232 yr With all of the negatives we can take out of yesterday's game I thought one positive was Ugochukwu's first start. At 19 he didn't look out of place at all, physically strong and vey composed.

Lesly has 2 full seasons under his belt in Ligue 1 with very impressive displays against PSG last season. Honestly a player I'm glad we have and tbh would prefer him over Lavia.
September 18, 20232 yr He was one of the reasons we kept a clean sheet. Also, Sanchez had a monster game in goal for us yesterday.

I always feel it's important to have a physical presence (Essien/Matic) or a truly outstanding athlete (Kante/Ramires) in your midfield. Les is another one who needs to develop but has certainly made a good start.

Maybe Pochettino wants a big back, strong back line. Maybe on Newcastle to better a back 4 of Colwill, Badiashile, Disasi and James for power.
September 27, 20232 yr Very impressed with him defensively. I think he could end with a red card on his tackle after the yellow card. Also he had a shaky first half in possession and offensive play, but defensively he always was there. Second half was much better for all the team, his partnership worked very good. He was calm against dribbling, his postioning towards the ball was great. I see him as a very talented defensive midfielder to be honest.
September 28, 20232 yr He has been impressive, only 19 as well. If he continues to impress what do we do when all of Gallagher, Enzo, Lavia, Santos and Caicedo are here and fit? Could the cheaper signings outshine our record signings?

They would need to sell some. Won’t be surprised to see Gallagher & Maatsen leave in the summer for pure profit to fund a CF. I just hope they pause buying “prospects” cos they have bought too much.
September 28, 20232 yr Love to see an imposing physical presence in midfield, something we've missed for nearly a decade since Nemanja Matic went off the boil. Hard to see what Lavia would bring ahead of him, to be honest.
