Similar to my feelings about Chukwuemeka last summer, this just feels like a daft transfer for the player himself.

He'd be far, far better off going to a club like Dortmund or Brighton, where he could be far more certain of receiving the game time so vital for his long-term development.

Best he has is the 3 behind the main striker, I.e. Jackson. 2 of those are bankers in Sterling and Nkunku. Means Palmer shares minutes with Carney, Mudryk and Madueke when all are fit. 

Ok Nkunku is out for now, so is Carney, so that means Pochettino can give good minutes split 2 positions between the 3 of Palmer, Mudryk and Madueke. When the other 2 are back though and without European football...

Plus chances are still that Mudryk will come good at some point too. When he does, that final place will also be gone, given his actual ability is streets ahead of Madueke/Palmer/Chukwuemeka's.

Think a lot of people are forgetting that we do have 5 subs a game. Palmer is a great option to come off the bench and could well even kick on and become a cemented starter.

I like Palmer looks like he’s got a good eye for goal excellent technique and has end product rather than flashy skills with nothing to show for it.   Most of this is at youth level mind so needs to prove he can do it at the top but I’m happy with this signing.  No he’s not an experienced guy we can all rely on but we  know that’s not how we roll in the transfer window anymore.

Reminds me of Ziyech in the way he cuts inside, which isn't a bad thing given his age. Just hope he's ready to hit the ground running. Considering what we've spent could we have signed the likes of Diaby/Chiesa?

45 million is way too much, he's completely unproven. Considering James Maddison went for £40m this is terrible value

Palmer is comfortably ahead of Madueke and Mudryk as I see things. Just the type of player for a night like tonight. We have a lot of players out there who can only take what the oppo gives them. Palmer can make things happen.

45m on a player that has made 44 senior appearances. This is absurd.

Maybe I am just out of touch with the modern game, because I have never seen anything like what we are doing.

Maybe the plan is to keep flogging Cobham lads, and pinch a few pennies by scrapping subsidised coach travel to away games.

Might have preferred an out and out 9 but otherwise pleased we have some forward cover.

He has less than 500 minutes in the premier league. 

For that price, Diaby and Maddison both available. 

We have signed so many kids, hopefully 3 or 4 of them develop into players that can challenge for titles.

I dont understand the direction tbh, Lots of players that are 2 or 3 seasons away, but then Poch is talking about winning trophies. 

This project is super ambitious, but the level of risk doesnt sit right with me. I'm worried about the financial health of the club long term.
