Antonio Conte - Now Officially Manager

So , Italian Martin o shouty or the real deal ?

Tactically? To early to say Barak. Ask me at Xmas.

But we do need a character to bond the players, inspire the fans and lead us with some passion. I don't think he will be lacking on that front.

How did he celebrate the winner? Heard he went mental?

Absolutely bonkers! Jumped up and down screaming. Ran along the touchline jumped into the crowd.[emoji3]

Brilliant. I don't think I have taken to a manager as quickly as this before.

He is so honest and passionate whilst also having quite clearly a tougher and more aggressive side to him. I love it.

Gotta admire the man's cajones, taking Hazard off when chasing a goal.

When Mou did that sort of stuff it felt like he was sending a message to the players being subbed, here it just felt like Conte rolling the dice and giving the other players a shot at breaking the deadlock.

Moses was a bit disappointing though, positive but disappointing.

He's a legend, the passion on the sideline, jumping into the crowd and running around the place when we scored the winner, hugging all the players individually after the game and congratulating them, have a feeling everyone will like this guy

My observations of the game:

Pressing and hard work. The whole team pressed, even the likes of Hazard.

More direct attacking football. A lots of long balls, and cut out lots of those short side way and backyard passes.

Attacking fullbacks. Both pushed high up on the field.

Go hard or go home, we didn't shy away from tackling. The manager obviously understood the English game.

Passion, no need to say more, just look at the man!

I was just thinking about this, we know that Don Antonio wants to play the 424 - wouldn't Borini be a nice option to have to play in that withdrawn striker role? I remember when he played on CFC he had a bit of pace - has that ship totally sailed & left the harbor?

Apparently many of the juve fans were angry when he left (which is why they were against allegri appointment initially) because they had grown attached to conte during his tenure and im not surprised, he will likely have a similar impact here methinks.

Loved the direct aggressive attacking play. No slow, labourious passing. It felt like Conte demands hard work but does allow the players to express themselves higher up the pitch. Did you see the amount of short 1-2's and flicks that help create chances.

Thought we were great in patches but dipped off after the goal. This season we will need to kill games off.

Anyone hear Conte after the game? He sounded like Sean Dyche!

as good as jose was to the fans, he never had this much interaction with the fans. just those actions alone will set him apart from, not just previous coaches of chelsea, but from coaches across europe.

Juve fans were mostly angry about the way he left (resigning on the first day of the new season after pledging to stay another year) and some of his comments regarding Juve's transfer strategy.

Remember that Conte didn't only manage Juve, he also played there for a good 13 seasons and was club captain for a couple of years, so Juve fans were already very attached to him before he ever became Juve manager. The manner of his resignation felt like a betrayal in that respect.
