Oh yeah how could i forget Essien? and Malouda. Kante we bought from Leicester i was just pointing out the players we bought directly from Ligue 1 clubs.

I want him to start games, he look's like a player that will be a real handful for defenders. I don't want Costa to be dropped though and i don't think he will be, i want us to play both of them, that means a change of formation and someone dropping to the bench.

But that would put the nail in the coffin for a player who must be starting for us - Cesc. Conte does not trust him in a 3 man mid, and only brought him on as Plan Z in the last 15 mins. Surely Cesc in a 2man mid wont be his plan A.

He is right though and I've been saying it for ages. The French league is one of the best leagues to buy players from for the EPL. Look at it just for us in recent years

If the two striker system is really the way he wants to play, Lacazette would be great. Would probably be one of the best strike forces in Europe. Costa, Batshuayi, Lacazette.

Much rather him than an Icardi.

Very funny guy, I'm so happy we got him. 

I like the confidence, attitude and body language of this guy ... suggests he should do well. Certainly better for me than a return for Lukaku, who always struck me as a "startled rabbit in the headlights" type alot of the time.

Torn his ACL last November. Before that though he was fantastic for Villa. Definitely a player i would want at Chelsea. I think a lot of people would see is linked with an Aston Villa player and instantly dismiss it but this lad really did look class.

I wonder what Conte will do if he keeps on grabbing goals. I wonder if Batshuayi will take Costa's place, or maybe they will get played together.

 

I would love it if they played together, but i'm not sure how that can be done with the players we currently have. I don't think we have the players in the squad to play with 2 up front.

 

Switching to 3-5-2 would be crazy with our current defenders, so that's not going to happen.

 

A 4-4-2 diamond is a possibility but i have never liked the formation, it's always had it's weaknesses.

 

A regular 4-4-2 could work, but can Kante do all of the defensive work by himself ? he would need to play with either Fabregas or Oscar and we need someone creative so it would have to be Fabregas. But Fabregas is pretty useless with the defensive side of his game, he tries but it's not enough. Kante would have to protect the defensive line all by himself, he's a great player but it's asking a lot from him. Even Makelele had help in that area and he was the best player to ever play in that position.

 

It's a tough choice but with the state of our current squad, i don't think we have much of choice but to stick with either a 4-2-3-1 ( 4-5-1 ) or a 4-3-3. Batshuayi and Costa will just have to share the position. I don't think we have the squad to change to 3-5-2 or 4-4-2.

I only saw the 3 minutes highlights, so probably unfair to judge him. He knows how to be at the right place at the right time, we haven't had a striker to score those 'easy tap ins' for years, nice to have an option like that. He did miss a number of good chances, but I believe his accuracy and composure will improve as he get more games. I knew it's only 3 games in, but he looked a promising signing.

New fan favourite I think, seems to be a genuinely good guy and hilarious to boot, personality-wise almost reminds me a bit of David Luiz, fortunately his on the field contributions seem to be a lot more predictable (in a good way).

While he's on a wave of confidence, now is the perfect time to give him a run of starts in the premier league. We always hear how strikers need confidence, and here we have a young guy with bags of potential who must be brimming with confidence after contributing goals and/or assists in every game so far.

Get him in the starting line-up by hook or by crook!

Would a £65m Lukaku have performed any better so far?

Appears to be a much better option than Remy at the moment.

He seems like a great talent. Already scoring goals our strikers haven't been scoring for years. Great energy. Very kicked about his future here.

All I see are positive posts because he has come in and scored 3 goals already in 1 start...that's impressive no matter what.

He's by no means the finished product but quite clearly he is a striker with huge potential.

gotta admit i have some doubts watching him in the preseason, seems like a very raw player and thought that we overpaid for him

only three games into the season and he has proven me wrong lol, we have a real gem in our hand
