February 27, 20197 yr THis is why Pedro can be important, he does the dirty work too. As much as I wanna see Hudson-Odoi more, I'm not sure he would have put his foot in like Pedro did with that tackle. Defensively Pedro and Willian do those defensive duties off the ball too. They need replacing for sure, but sometimes you need those hard working players.
February 27, 20197 yr Well thank god for that. We are smiling after a game for once. we seemed to really play with heart and fight. We need to go on a run now
February 27, 20197 yr Pedro bought a bit of his Barca brilliance onto the pitch tonight, he was excellent

Has Sarri turned a corner and finally comprised on his ideology? Justified the team selection with the result and performance so no complaints from me tonight. I wouldn't mind see that more often. Build from the back first, get that right and then we can start putting things right in attack.

I can never fault Pedro's work rate, or Willians for that matter, but this is the best I've seen Pedro in ages, if he played like that every week or even once every 3 weeks I doubt people would even give CHO a thought.
February 27, 20197 yr Much better effort today. Still didn't really create much, but got the win so can't complain too much.
February 27, 20197 yr I'll be the first to admit Pedro played very well, especially the 2nd half he was vital. Higuain was not so good but didnt have much service. I dont think he lead the line too well tonight. Same goes for Hazard, he'll catch hell for performances like that at Madrid. Alonso should be on the bench, he cant touch Emerson right now. Final thought, I'd want Kante on my team out of anyone on the pitch today.
February 27, 20197 yr You gotta love it,especially the second goal lol.Well played Pedro, battled really hard. Now for a big spliff and a few more beers,UTC !
February 27, 20197 yr I think Sarri may have adjusted his tactics now and realise letting teams have the ball really means nothing and we just break and pounce on them. I think we will see this from Chelsea going forward and it is just what we needed he has taken it back to basics I feel and then restart the possession game slowly

For everyones sake I hope it happens.
February 27, 20197 yr we're just getting into shape for our traditional destruction of Liverpool's title ambitions at Anfield in a few weeks' time

Much better tactically, just as the previous match against City. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come. Very tight game with very few real chances from both teams but finally we got the win. The highlight of the game was Pedro making the last hope tackle in his own box and going on a Messi like run in the opposite direction. That was a great sign that the team spirit is intact. Sarri needed that and I'm happy for him. The Kepa/Caballero gamble worked and hopefully that showed to the rest of the squad who's the boss. I was critical of Sarri's reaction to Kepa incident at the time, but the way he and the club handled it afterwards was just perfect.

Oh I agree, but I think it's more to do with his age now. He doesn't have the legs like he would have had a few years ago so the constant pressing can be tiresome. I think he was decent in the cup game and did well today too.
February 27, 20197 yr Not a good look from Sarri in not shaking Poch’s hand. He needs to be less petulant. Must hold lots of anger inside him. Edited February 27, 20197 yr by Phillip
February 27, 20197 yr I’d like to shout out Alonso, gets a seriously hard time of late but I thought he was very solid today. Great tracking back to stop Son getting the volley off.
February 27, 20197 yr Get the f**k in there boys! Nothing better than beating those twats, keep the momentum going now UTC!
