Welcome Hakim Ziyech

Owe the lad an apology, if most of the other 10 out there showed his effort we’d be blowing teams away. Risen to the occasion lately and it’s hard for TT not to have his name written down first on the team sheet. Now if only Rom & Pully and to a lesser degree Kai could find that mojo!

Starting to look like the player I thought we was getting originally.

Our best attacker in the last month, by a long way unfortunately.

Ziyech, Havertz and Werner came from other countries and league styles to the Premeir League during a pandemic and contracted COVID, multiple times. In all that mess, they still contributed to winning the Champions League. Everything was going fine under these circumstances.

Then Chelsea had to mess with it, because of the outside pressure.

Every year the press tell Pep he needs to buy a striker. Evey year Pep fakes interest in some washed-up has been like Sanchez, Cavani or Ronaldo. Then he laughs his ass off, when United buys them and just continues with the same successful tactics.

Don't agree,  last season it was obvious we needed more firepower as Werner's nerve went and Havertz was in and out of the side.

So the question was could we rely on Havertz and a raw Broja.

I have no problem with the club deciding to get a striker  it was just their choice was poor.

Took him a bit of time to find his form but he has been very good recently. Even on his off days he is one of those players who can make something out of nothing. He should be one of the first names on the team sheet currently. Hoping Havertz can follow his lead and find similar form.

Took his chance well, lost possession a lot today but at least he’s trying the more difficult ball even if the mistakes are the more simple stuff. In the side on merit at present.

Had some brilliant moments .. sometimes he is magical and sometimes very ordinary.. but I think we can do with Ziyech in the team For now..

Thank you Hakim, thank you for making sure we did not lose ground on every single contender for the top 4 race this weekend.

Even more so than you for being the only attacking player to make me get my bum out of my seat during a match for the past 3 months.

Ziyech seems to be the only attacking player in our squad not caring. By that I mean caring about our slump in the attack. All of our other attacking players are afraid of scoring and clearly thinking about it to lengths it is making our attacking depleted.

Pulisic a lw playing as cm/am struggle

Havertz a 10/9 playing as lw : struggle

Lukaku a rf/runner playing as target man : strugle

Ziyech a rw playing as rw : our best attacker

Maybe there is a pattern here.

Ziyech suits 433 playing on the RW much better than playing 10.

I just don't get it mate, it's hard to criticise a manager that's taken us to world champions yet nobody escapes criticsm. These days it seems like coaches (Pep is one of the main culprits) try to get too fancy with their selections and positioning.

Sometimes the simple solution is the correct one, everyone else including the players can see it so why can't the coaching staff? To get the best out of players surely you play them in their best position. Ziyech is the prime example so why wouldn't he play the others there too? It's so confusing, hopefully that little experiment is done.

Realistically I see us playing 3421/3412/442 hybrid for the ucl mid week game. Although Lille underdogs and that may mean TT gambles and uses a flat back 4.

Seems super simple if we are to play 4atb Ziyech on the right, CHO/Pulisic on the left. Same 3 in the pivot. Mount/Kai in CAM or 2nd striker, Lukaku/Timo primary striker.

Alonso lb playing more as a wb and Rudi, Silva/Christensen and Azpil playing together as a back 3 when we attack to cover for Alonso pushing forward. Ziyech covers the right wing to allow Azpil to sit deeper.

Pulisic comes inside to allow Alonso to over lap and same with CHO who cqn drive forward with the ball or take it to the byline and cross.

Mount/Kai the creative hub in a number 10 spot feeding the wingers and strikers who run into the box.

433, 4231, 442, 4141 it doesn't matter the shape as long as they play in their actual positions. You can't play Kai Lw and expect him to be Hazard and pulisic as a 10 and expect him to be KDB/Coutinho. It should be the over way around Thomas 🤔

Our best performance offensively in recent months came when we played 4222.

Lukaku, werner, havertz can play in front 2.

Mount, ziyech, cho, puli can play as winger.

We played that formation once and we never come back to it.
