Haaland has easily outmuscled pretty much ever CB he's played against, I don't think we should be using that really high bar to rate Colwill. He's an absolute monster.
February 18, 20242 yr He should be starting most games now as LCB, Silva should be on the bench when he come back.

For once, that was Werner in Haaland's costume played against us😅 If he converted any of those big chances, people wouldn't be speaking so positive of Colwill and Diasi
February 19, 20242 yr It wasn't physicality but movement which got Haaland ahead of Colwill on both chances, something which has happened quite often at left back too.

Haalands movement and general game was excellent, really top draw. His finishing? For once abysmal. He actually performed very much like Nico does for us actually.

But it's nothing to worry about, Colwill is on a good path to become a top defender. Maybe it sounds a bit odd to say this but somehow he reminds me of Rio Ferdinand right now... Anyway he just needs to grind out another season and with that he'll be positioning himself better and he'll be winning duels in the air like it's nothing.

He's 2nd to none in that regard. Colwill at the very least did what he needed to do when he lost his man, stick an arm on him.
February 19, 20242 yr Also tbf Disasi should look better than Colwill, he has 5 more years of experience.
February 25, 20242 yr Constantly gave the ball away today just kept passing it to Liverpool midfield.

And yet he was 2nd in the team for pass accuracy today on 88.9% behind only Caicedo who had 94%. Colwill wasn't the problem today for me. The problem was our failure to take any of our many good chances.

February 25, 20242 yr Thought he was one of the better ones today and I haven’t been hugely impressed with him so far this season.

February 26, 20242 yr Was as bad as the rest of them. Brutal in possession. Very nervous. At least he has the potential to become a world beater though.
February 26, 20242 yr Looked the leader at the back compared to his more experienced partner. Only 20 years old and getting better. I feel sorry for our defence. To soak pressure for 117 minutes and keep a clean sheet against one of the most inform teams in the league/world. Our attack needs to take the pressure off the backline and score any one of the several sitters they had on a plate for them. Gallagher should have had a couple, Jackson went through one on one a few times but gets the ball stuck under his feet, Sterling was anonymous again, Enzo trying to backheel it in rather than lay it off. Just mind numbingly bad in front of goal.
April 13, 20242 yr Another one that got injured and seems to have disappeared. Over a month out, no sign of him returning any time soon.
