The wing-backs are being completely nullified by their wing-backs, and without that we have nothing going forward. Take Azpilicueta off for someone to sit next to Kovačić (I'm surprised Jorginho didn't start considering he was rested at the weekend) and drop Chilwell and James deeper. This frees up Mount, and gives the wing-backs some space to operate in.

No idea why none of this couldn't be amended earlier (even just by changing the instructions for the players on the pitch) when what we are currently doing is obviously not working. Even with a new forward, there is zero evidence whatsoever of any attacking coaching whatsoever (again).

Complete and utter rubbish.

This is without doubt one of the most impotent teams I can remember seeing. I am dreading this weekend already and it's only Tuesday. 

The football is ponderously slow, its full of cheats not running or passing the ball to the nearest bloke so they don't have to deal. Mount for me has been abysmal.  

Yet again a fking horrible team to watch with no football in them. Shockingly bad.

Giving Azpi another contract is one of the worst decisions in the history of the club.

Great servant but keeping a clearly finished player against his will and giving him a long term extension and a pay rise when he had the opportunity to leave on a high just because we wanted to one up Barca is incredibly amateurish.

Azpi has nothing more to give to us.

I honestly can’t believe I’m seeing it. He’s either injured or knackered because the one thing you could always count on was his work rate.

Midfield is atrocious, Kovacic holding onto the ball too long Mount not in the game

Upfront no cohesion, like a pub team thrown together

As for the defence, we’ve been conned by Italians again and our new 70 m defender isn’t blessed with pace

Tuchel will lose the fans if this continues.

They matched the formation. We had all our best attacks from the central positions. We should go through center.

It's just so depressing to watch Chelsea these days. Feels like a chore.

Looks like Mount is not even trying, seems to be strolling around.

Havertz and Mount should not be starting in the same team together. It’s got to be one or the other. The numbers simply don’t justify playing two #10’s, if you can even class them as that, out of position.

A lot of new players on but the same sh*t continues. We play far too slowly all the time. Not looking good at all. 

Might be being a bit harsh or reactionary but Koulibaly doesn’t seem up to standard maybe took too long to make the move from serie a.

Same formula as prem games. start off looking like today could be the day. Faff around in front of goal doing nothing when decisiveness is needed. Individual(s) mistakes gift a goal to opposition. Instead of being galvanized to atone for error the team collectively switch off and play the most boring style of football ever suffered by CFC Fans with not even a shot on target after conceding, in fact the opposition team look more likely to score again. Am I wrong ?

Azpi and Koulibaly look like they've just stepped out of retirement. Mount isn't strong enough defensively to play in a midfield 2. Sterling has been utter sh*te. Fofana, Kovacic, Havertz all playing fairly well. Aubameyang has looked promising, but looks hindered by the jaw which is understandable. 

We need to take Azpi off, move to a back 4, stick Zakaria on next to Kova and hook either Mount or Sterling to accommodate. 4-2-3-1. 

Koulibaly really is a worry though tbh, looks completely lost.

Obviously he must be subbed at half time. I wonder if Gallagher with his power would be better or Ziyech with his passing. I would bring on Ziyech for Mount.

Maybe the fact all our players continue to look sh*te, game after game - it’s not the players? The system is so lethargic. If you shout down the wingbacks, we’re f**ked. I would love to know the instructions the players get - I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re told not to take risks and retain possession above all else.

 

Frankly, we are utterly sh*te to watch - we need to turn this around in the second half but if Tuchel doesn’t change it, I can’t see how we do. 

Gallagher on for Azpilicueta and Zakaria on for Mount. Try with 3 in midfield with Zakaria as DM, free up Kovacic and Gallagher to move forward.
