Good

Calm on the ball

Good shot stopper

Bad

Not aerially dominant (big minus with current squad)

Sánchez is no better aerially seems to flap and fall over at nearly every corner ball.

I think he should keep his spot now.

He's made a decent start and although he needs to command his area for crosses a bit more I thought he's already improved in that aspect against Luton, who are a big side.

But the big thing for me is me not worrying at every back pass to our keeper anymore, it turned into a thing and opposition clearly worked out that there was a least one big mistake every match with Sanchez in goal.

Sanchez costs us too many unnecessary goal scoring opportunities against us for me to be on board with him coming straight back into the team as our No 1.

Agree should keep his place. Much better footwork, and a good shot stopper. Needs to work on the aerial side of his game - for his height he should be more dominant on crosses.

If everyone can see this and say similar, knowing how managers can be, it won't be surprising for Poch to put him straight back in after his injury but boy that will piss off more than a few.

Have to agree, believe he’s our number 1.
In the games he has played I can just think of one poor clearance which went to opposition in a bad area for us. This was happening every game with Sanchez.

In most other areas Sanchez maybe slightly better but as we insist on playing out from the back I think Petrovic needs a good long run of games. He needs to improve on cross balls though as teams will target him. I’m hoping that coming for crosses might be a confidence thing a bit like scoring goals is for strikers as I think this pass couple of games he has claimed a few under a bit of pressure and looked a bit more assured.

Love this guy already. He doesn't make  me nervous and i believe he is the best goalie we had since Courtois.

To me its no brainer that he is 1st choice now.

Will be very interesting to see what Pochettino does when Sanchez is fit, as I imagine Ben Roberts will be pushing very hard for his boy to be back in goal !

What ever decision he makes he has to answer for ultimately. If Sanchez comes back in and does very well/removes the bozo moments, credit to Poch.

If Sanchez comes in and continues to be a bozo, zero sympathy for Poch.

Petrovic has been great and done little if anything wrong, so deserves to retain the No.1 jersey.

It's not as if we have a Cech or Courtois waiting to return from injury. It's Sanchez who gives me the jitters almost as much as Mendy used to. Sanchez (and Mendy before him) are both these modern type of keepers, who perhaps don't have a great deal to do during a game, so when they do get the ball passed back to them they think it's a chance to say "look at me, I can dribble with the ball that well I could easily play outfield", only for them to f**k things up time after time.

Give me the no nonsense approach of Petrovic every day of the week - it's much better for my heart!

Doesn't have an obvious weakness, and doing what you expect a PL keeper to do.  Higher ceiling than Mendy and much better with his feet - early days but gives the impression he is the best GK we've had since Courtois.  I'm sure Poch will drop him for Sanchez though!

He still looks like he's suffering from imposter syndrome. He needs to start believing he's playing for Chelsea and that he is as good as any keeper in the premiership. some big saves yesterday, it is no surprise we are looking a lot more solid at the back. Big games coming up, let's see how he gets on. He won us 3 points yesterday

What I like is that he knows when to pass it out of the back and when to just boot it. Sanchez can be decent with his feet, but he's too nonchalant and it results in him making basic errors.

I think 'decent with his feet' is generous.  Christy Brown could play it out from the back better than Sanchez. Every time Sanchez has the ball at his feet it's chocolate air biscuit time.

There is no reason to drop Petrovic now

Fear is the manager doesn't judge on games but on reputation and team rank otherwise there is no footballing reason or justification where Sanchez gets the GK jersey back based on what they have both given to the team. I said early doors in when he started that the calm he exudes compared to three or four nervy moments per game due to Sanchez's erratic behaviour will filter through the team and whilst we are nowhere in the region of Chelsea back of old, we can see the general composure at the back has improved.

I definitely think he's done enough to keep his spot when Sanchez is fit. It'll be interesting to see how he does over the next month when he's probably going to be worked more against city and Liverpool, even though he's done well at what he's faced so far the teams we've played haven't overly tested him.

It would be interesting but I'm pretty sure that Sanchez will be in those games

(Sample size is far smaller, far worse (I think) average quality of opponent, etc.)

Not sure which site that is from, but is it possible to do a compare of each against, say, Allison Becker ?

Interested to see how they look against the best keeper in the PL ...

Djorde doing well so far, and his save percentage (73.9%) is now the 5th best in the PL, but the small sample comment is very valid as that stat improved dramatically just with a few saves against Fulham !
