April 28, 20179 yr Some people have no class in making allegations about someone. Seems as though some don't know what the concept of defamation is. Edited April 28, 20179 yr by Jezz

May 5, 20179 yr http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4476340/Chelsea-fans-launch-petition-new-John-Terry-Stand.html Personally not in favour. Am however still annoyed that the East Stand hasn't been named the Lord Attenborough Stand.

I can't think of anyone more deserving.

Well I would argue Matthew Harding and Lord Attenborough are more deserving. Without their support for the club there wouldn't have been a JT. They dedicated their lives to Chelsea through a number of dark times and gave to the club a lot more than they received. JT is a player, paid handsomely, to deliver on and off the pitch. Without being paid that much money - the highest paid in the league for a defender - he would have left. He has made no actual sacrifices for the club. If he dedicates the next 10+ years as an ambassador for the club then I will change my mind. But as he is going to go off to another club, potentially then move into media or managing other teams, then I would suggest we wait. Imagine if in 10-15 years time he is the manager of Tottenham or United...what do we do then? Change the name back? Do you actually suggest that is 100% not going to happen? We don't know what his next career will be in football. None of this intended to be a slur on JT, he is the GOAT for Chelsea and has been an incredible captain who is responsible for a number of trophies, he is a legend. But lets just wait and see what he does for the rest of his adult life first before making him officially marking him as an equal with MH.
May 5, 20179 yr Can't believe his dad refused to support him when he signed for Chelsea. Heard they were Man U supporters. Shame on JT senior.
May 5, 20179 yr The JT Stand thing is pointless at the moment, isn't it? Why not wait for the new stadium to be built first? Whatever stand is named after him right now will be demolished very soon.
May 6, 20179 yr Supposedly JT has an offer of £5m signing on bonus and £100K a week from a PL club for next year ... plus an option in China ... not bad options for a career swansong.

You'd think with that sort of money offered, it's a team in the top half of the table at least.
May 9, 20179 yr 'He's done it again, he's done it agaiiiin, John Terry, he's done it again.' *If Chelsea claim the title JT will overtake Roy Keane as the most successful Premier League captain with 5 to his name.
May 9, 20179 yr Author It's going to be strange not having JT at the club next season. These substitute cameos are very bittersweet. How does a club move on from a player that defines their club?
May 11, 20179 yr Love JT to bits but I just can't accept having a stand named after him without thinking about DD and Super Frank. I honestly can't pick the 3 apart and all are just as deserving as eachother. If anything, a stand should be named after Roman.

How does a club move on from a player that defines their club? On the pitch we already have, off the pitch I'm sure we've been putting the groundwork in. JT has been pivotal behind the scenes and others will have to take up that leadership mantle, but the organisational culture of the club should sustain itself, especially with a figure as influential as Conte at the helm.

Stevie G cringeworthy.
May 15, 20179 yr 100th goal this season. 1000th goal under Roman. 17th consecutive goal scoring season. It couldn't have been more more fitting for JT to be the one that scored it. No matter what happens from here on he'll always be one of our own. Captain, Leader, LEGEND!
May 16, 20179 yr Going out on his shield, legend, but if he was a horse, he would be fearing the glue factory, 17 PL seasons and a PL goal, loves ya JT....
