*Official* Pedro to Chelsea

Featured Replies

Like most players who are in the 'great but not world class' category, he'll have his games that suit him and those that don't, a home game against Aston Villa isn't going to bring the best out of a player who uses pace and space in behind a lot, especially when the rest of the team is scared to take a risk at the moment.

Hello. Sorry if I do not speak good English. I am a fan of Barca and Chelsea. I saw Pedro play many matches. He is a bad player. When he was 21 years no one knew him, he never went to the youth national teams, but he was lucky because Guardiola was his coach in the Barcelona B and then ascended through it. He has no vision,no precision of pass and he is not very intelligent with offensive moves and he only plays football backward. 23 goals is the best record of Pedro, but he played in the best Barcelona of history, with Messi, Xavi, Iniesta ... Its performance is bad in 80% of the matches, but he is a friend of Del Bosque and he plays with the spanish national football team because of him and because the spanish journalists also protect him, but there are many players better than him in Spain.

He can get some goals, but he only knows to run to defend, don´t expect much from him. I do not understand how Mourinho signed him, although when he was in the Real Madrid he plays with Arbeloa or Khedira and even he signed Altintop xD

Erm, no. Just no.

Bad player is over the top, however a lot of what this guy says is true.

I never rated Pedro that much when he was at Barca. He was part of one of the best sides of all time but he's never been a world beater. I mentioned this in the rumours section when were going to sign him. I'm glad we did but he doesn't improve us and that's been confirmed.

He's good, just not amazing.

We missed the boat with Alexis, I'm afraid.

Have to agree. Pedro is decent but not world class. Still, you can't win them all. Arsenal would have liked Mata & Hazard and were linked with both before we signed them but fair play they got Sanchez who seems to be getting better & better.

Think he is suffering like several others because of the low morale and confidence in the team.

When he came from Barca he was on another level for a week or two but has never really kicked on from that.

Don’t think he’s gone through such a situation of bad form when he was at Barca so it’s a change for him.

poor attempt at pidgin english to mask the fact you are actually a dipper.

perfectly articulated sentences and spelling interspersed with stealth mis-placed preposition resulting in faux "foreigner on forum" persona.

Pedro seems the type that if the team was playing with confidence and just generally better, he'd be a different player, but not one to win a game on his own when we're struggling. Still, a good player though. Massive improvement on twiglet hair,

well some will tell you that CFC/Jose didn't use Cuadrado correctly...Still I agree w/ you that Pedro is an upgrade on both Schurrle & Cuadrado, but Schurrle is more loveable ;)

Reports in the Spanish media that Pedro is unhappy he left Barca. Quoted as saying the Premier league is not what he expected, he dreams of returning to Barcelona and that as a club Chelsea cannot be compared with them.

He and Cesc are close mates so disenchantment may be spreading.

Ah, reports from the 'spanish press' hyping barca and belittling an english team. Then I guess our press must earn their pay by countering that.

To be fair I doubt he expected to be in a relegation fight.

Still, he  - like the rest of the players -  should f**king sort themselves out if they want to get up to the top of the table again

Some players just struggle to settle, especially if you've spent your whole life in Barcelona.

I can see him going back to Spain next season.

Agreed. If we miss out on top 4 we may see a couple of players ask to leave.

Been disappointed with him so far so he wouldn't be a great miss anyway.

Will be interesting to see if Pedro's performances improve given next summer's Euros, if he can emulate Duff's contribution he'll be a good signing though I can't help but feel that for the fee we could have gone for someone like Matt Ritchie (easy to say with hindsight). His goal v West Brom was a fortunate deflection. At least with Cuadrado I felt he can handle the physical side of the game (something I think that, with the exception of Diego, most of our attacking players lack).

I think this forum would've exploded if we signed matt Richie instead of pedro!

We can say that about pretty much every player this season. Only Azpilicueta and Willian have been good so far. There is no doubt that Pedro is a good player, but he is also a player who plays well when the team plays well.

If those rumours are true and he wants to leave already after one season with us then he can go. He started very well with us, after a short period he did nothing special. I know that our team is in terrible form but it shouldn't affect on him, like it doesn't affect on Azpi and Willian. I also hate the point that he talks about leaving already, instead of fighting until the end and support the team, all he does is lowering the morale. Maybe those rumours are fake and I'm wrong, but if they're real, then I'm really disappointing with his actions.

While there may always be some truth to it, I suspect the rumour has been fabricated from a journalist jumping on the 'crisis' bandwagon.
