Was thinking that too but yet again we and Costa want him to finish top goalscorer in league.

Thats probably not going to happen with Lukaku being 4 goals ahead of him though.

4 goals is not a lot to catch up to. Especially when you consider there is still 10 games left, where we have a lot of 'easier' games to play on paper while Everton still have to play us, Arsenal away, United away, Liverpool away and it is noticed he is not as prolific against the bigger teams. We have a lot of teams in bottom half still to play so if Costa plays to his best, not difficult for him to reach up there.

He will get his full debut once we wrap up the title, hopefully after the next 4-5 games. I don't think Costa will be the top scorer, he score lots of goals but he rarely get a double, or the cheap goals against teams in the bottom half. To get the golden boot, you need to score those 'cheap' and 'easy' goals against poor teams. I'm not down playing Costa, think those goals he scored better teams or those in 1:0 are worth more than a hat trick against Hull or Sunderland.

Thought he linked up well with Willian and Pedro today. Was nice to have a poacher in the 6yd box.

I agree...particularly first half...with limited service, he made life awkward for their defenders...certainly gave them more of a game than Costa would have...thought he showed enough to make conte's reluctance to play him all the more bizarre

I think that in a game where we will dominate the ball more, he would be very useful, a lot more useful than Costa has been of late. Even against sides that we should be beating and dominating against, it ends up breaking down with Costa. This one game from Batshuayi shows me that he would offer more than Costa in current form. He would link up much better than Costa has been of late and wouldn't look so clumsy on the ball. 

I really hope he plays against Southampton but can't help but feel that Conte will go back to Costa.

Pretty sure he will Scott, sounds like conte basically said he only played today because conte was mad about our upcoming week of fixtures and wanted to rest eden and Costa.

Thought he looked decent today. Worked hard and build up is better than Costa. 

 

Should have scored that header though, was pretty much a free header.

Same with Costa too. Hope to see more of him this season, I feel sorry for him he hasn't done any wrong in games he played so far.

I think it was called offside anyway.

His link up play was a massive strength. With how free scoring our wingers are we need a striker that can take a ball down, hold off a CB and lay a pass off. Something Costa doesn't do. 

I still dont rate him. But tonight i love him lol

His Chelsea Career just got a massive life line. 

He has had 18 sub appearances out of 36 games. I know, he has had no starts, but for a 23 year old and first season in PL, its a start. Hopefully he is still here next year and proves a good sub/squad player.

Just like Torres when he won that corner in Munich in 2012, Michy has just repaid every penny we spent on him in the summer.

 

I hope he stays next season, if we replace Costa, we'll still need a rotation especially with CL football.

This winning goal will be massive for his confidence and will be cemented in our history forever. I hope he gets a chance to push on from here and I'm genuinely delighted for him after going through such a frustrating season.

I just imagine how he is feeling right now. We could tell everything about him, but saying that he is going to score our champion goal....
