Seems to me he’s just like all the other managers who claim to not care about the transfer market. Like Klopp.

Not being able to sign players for two windows has no doubt made his decision easy.

To be fair, losing your only world class player and not being able to buy is a bloody disaster.

Dedicating last nights title to the Napoli-fans instead of even acknowledging the traveling supporters for example was very descriptive of the man.

Why are you making sh*t up? He mentioned our fans several times, the napoli fans once. Your constant bullsh*t about Sarri is pathetic.

I hate this type of attitude. One day the trophies will dry up, and you will be begging for another League Cup, FA Cup or Europa League victory. I don't like to use the words spoilt or say people aren't proper fans of the club, but in this case, I think it's fair to say you fit both of those. To say you're not interested in winning any trophy outside of the Champions League and Premier League is so ungrateful. You're basically saying that half of what we have won in the Roman era and almost everything we won before it in our history means nothing.

All the Sarri out fans are going to get their wish, I believe he is going mainly because of disrespectful he's been shown by the media and worst by our fans. Some of the chats were disgraceful and I believe he doesn't want to be here because of that.

I truly hope whoever comes next wins a trophy and gets top 4 because with Hazard going it would have be ideal for Sarri to carry on and continue his work, the continuity would have helped us greatly with the ban and hazard going.

I hope am proved wrong but if he goes we are in for a tough season, hope am wrong though.

That's just ridiculous. If some unpleasant chanting is enough to make a manager want to quit, perhaps he was never the right man for the job in the first place. It was clear that he found the Chelsea job very difficult to handle and on many occasions the pressure got to him. Now when the transfer ban is looming and Juve came calling, he's ready to jump ship, and apparently it's ungrateful Chelsea fans, that are to blame.

Personally, if Sarri is indeed the one who asked to leave and not the othe way around, I see it as a sign of weakness, and in a long run both parties will be better off without each other. Truly an odd man.

Basically it seems like he wanted assurances, like that we'd try and sign some players and not sack him if we don't sign anyone and it all goes tits up, and the board didn't give them to him. Can't blame him for wanting to go really.i We're run like a circus. Sure the trophies have kept coming at a reasonably regular rate, but that won't last forever if we don't start to actually work towards some sort of long-term plan.

I was under the impression that Sarri doesn't care about the transfer business. In fact, didn't he say exactly that when he first arrived, that he just wants to work with players he's got and pays no attention to transfer rumours? I thought that's what Sarri's fans here loved about him and demanded the rest of us to just give the man time. Well, apparently he doesn't want to give it time because something better came along. The f**kups by our board and owner are well-documented, but I can't see how Sarri can ask to leave at this point and somehow carry no responsibility.

It will be a brave move by the club to hire Lampard after one season. I admit, he did create a great atmosphere at Derby and it seemed like they over achieved given they had a lot of loan players and the sold their top goal scorer.

Oh god no, do not go for the brave move :runforhills:

Reminds me of an episode of Yes, minister, when Sir Humphrey says "Oh brave move, minister", only for Hackett to panic and reverse his decision

A potential fourth,

I haven't heard there is yet it us the kind of thing you would expect if you keep challenging a decision.

Not sure that would be a remote possibility irrespective the deadline has passed and we will soon find out.

It's too soon for Lampard right now, especially with the transfer fan. If Sarri likes to take the easy route out, good luck to him and no grudges, but he'd win lots of fans if he stays for another year and build his team.

I personally won’t be disappointed if Sari leaves. That said I won’t be disappointed if he stays my wife however who like me is a season ticket holder hates his brand of football and wants him gone.Sari is very much a marmite manger.

As for it being too early for Frank I can’t agree at all with that.

What would  it be better say in 12 or 24 months when he quite possibly is managing a mid table championship team at Derby? You may have a point if say he were going to manage say Palace a club he would have to learn about them and they about him but him managing at Chelsea at this point in time would be perfect timing.

With Cech being a pointed to the board Frank would  have someone in place who he knows and indeed already has worked together likewise Jody if he were too follow clearly is  a very talented coach and again there is already an established working relationship between them. In the background there are the likes of Cudicini and possibly Zola and indeed who knows perhaps JT.

Frank and Jody will have seen many of the academy graduates,(who are now being talked about as potentially now able to graduate to the first team) develop they will know and  above all trust them

Above all however there is it seems a very comfortable relationship between Frank, Cech and Terry and RA and that is crucial but that’s not all there is a very close bond between Frank and the supporters and that will buy him time.

When Robbie was appointed following the CL win it was almost forced on the club and yes he had done well I always felt however  that it was as much about the senior players grabbing things by the scruff of the neck and driving things forward as opposed to him being a great coach.

Was it too early for Pep when he was appointed at Barca, or what about Zidane at Real?

I know it’s a different era but was it too early for the likes of Cruyff at Barca or Dalgliesh when he stepped up at Liverpool or what about when we appointed Hoddle after he had managed for little or no time at Swindon?

Frank is an articulate and intelligent man he has energy and playing  experience so for me it’s a no brainier if indeed Sari does leave.

The model that RA introduced at Chelsea has been hugely successful but to a degree that model needs a revamp the transfer ban could be the catalyst in creating and trusting that pathway from the academy to first team but that pathway can only work if the head coach is comfortable in his own skin and as has being clearly evidenced the likes of JM,AC and now MS very clearly became agitated and under a type of pressure I just don’t think Frank would be subjected to.

One word - spoilt

Winning any trophy is a big deal and it’s hard to do yet we consistently win trophies. I think what we’re seeing with comments such as yourself is the terrible way any trophies but the two you mentioned are talked about today. There’s too much emphasis on what a trophy means for the following season when fact is it should mean something special for the end of the current season. I can’t and will never understand this attitude, quite frankly it f**ks me off.

We should be able to enjoy these moments. It is not every day you win European trophy. At the same time we need to realize we are challenging in the wrong tournament. As a club we need to go forward with a good plan. Hiring new managers every season is not the way, getting banned from signing players certainly is not ideal and going on without sport director can't be good.

There is nothing between us and current Liverpool but a good manager with some time in his hands. City for me is one step ahead and a bit special.

This is why sarri leaving is depressing me more than anything since the uefalona semi final. I'm furious. I want someone to blame. Whether it's the fans who think booing their own is suddenly a good idea (I swear we didn't do this 5 years ago) or the board who have been ambivalent and allowed rumours of sacking Sarri to leak out all season, or who completely f**ked up in allowing us to have a transfer ban (why the f**k were we trying to buy 16 year old kids from abroad). Maybe it's sarris fault but I still think theres factors at play that has led him there.

I can't see how we continue improving with a new manager. Football has moved on and there are two empires at the top. Pragmatism won't win us a big trophy, it has to be a plan.

I don't know a single other manager in the game who will join us that can continue the project of turning us into an attacking possession based side. Lampard is a huge gamble and could easily backfire, his results at derby weren't amazing and out of everyone, he's still who I would pick (except Bielsa, who I'm aware isn't on the cards).

Urgh. To top it all off, either Liverpool or Tottenham are winning big ears tonight.

Disgraceful attitude that seems prevalent in our younger fans unfortunately, spoilt little sh*ts. Every season there's 4 trophies, to win any of them is glorious and absolutely worthy of celebration.

If he did i missed it and take it back. Do you know when he credited them by any chance?

Jorginho would turn into Alonso MK 2. He is a system player who will probably look off under a different system.

I am all for Sarri staying but does he want to stay?

He does okay with the italian team though, and he was good at verona. Maybe see how he does before letting gim go.

I actually canni believe I’ve just read that. Despite it being a ‘glorified friendly’ I’ll still be happy if we win the European super cup & I quite enjoy when we win the community shield as well although I wouldn’t cry if we lost.

Dismissing the likes of the FA & League Cup though is embarrassing. I’m not usually one to back up the folk that call people plastic and glory hunters but this post sums that up to perfection.

In 1984 i celebrated winning the 2nd division along with many thousands of other Chelsea fans, it was a huge lift for the club and partly the reason i hung about supporting this club all this time.

Oh sorry, i forgot your'e not interested.

Perspective is good but so is ambition. This is competitive sports and we should aim for the highest targets. At the moment they are not in our reach unfortunately.

The Europa League gets a lot of bad press, but this is still a great trophy and not easy to win, as evidenced by the fact that since 2003/04 only two English sides have managed to win it ... Chelsea (won twice, both times we have been in it), and Manchester United (won once out of three attempts).

Arsenal (twice), Manchester City (four times), Liverpool (six times) and Tottenham (nine times) have all failed to win the trophy in that timeline, as have the other 17 English/Welsh clubs that have failed 36 times between them.

It’s actually very very impressive at what we have achieved in Romans tenure.

We have been up against the Best United, Arsenal and City sides since since the EPL era began. We also won a CL and got to another final in the era of possibly the best Footballing side of all time in Peps Barcelona.

Despite every bump in the road we still somehow manage to win trophies consistently and given our turnover of managers and off field issues that’s incredible.

As for the melt who said only 2 trophies matter in football, well he’s what is wrong with modern football.

Well, I guess...here we go again.

Massimilano Allegri
