I think the key word here is patience.

So much to be positive about.

Back 4 were very good.

Pivot worked really well, Jorginho amd Kante compliment each other better than any other combination.

Havertz showed some momemts of real quality.

CHO was much better second half, and clearly needs minutes to get some confidence.

Werner and Abraham worked hard but it was probably the one area that is still a little in cohesive, but with Pulisic and Ziyech to come in, it might not be a problem we have to deal with very often.

Good win, clean sheet.

We finally manage a good, coherent team performance and now there’s a bloody international break. I’m not even sure that international football should be happening right now.

Very happy with the win though, and I suspect after more than a year under Lampard we are starting to settle on a back four that he is satisfied with.

Very calm and cool win!! Brilliant defensive performance, good midfield and attacking wise we were good in the first half (Tammy needs to bury those headers in) and clinical in the second. Great team performance overall. Where are all those doom mongers that we’re complaining at half time? I expect they’ve gone back to their respective hiding place in north London forums...

I just hope Zouma is OK as that last challenge on him looked nasty.

Yeah he seemed to be okay after he stood up, let's hope it's just a niggle.

Dominated the whole game, now all the Lampard and Jorginho haters went back to their holes, feels good to have this performance going for the international break.

Chilwell is pure quality, we look like a much better team with a proper LB, just like I thought.

Lampard didn't make a sub until 75 minutes.

Lampardout.

?

Absofugginlutely delighted with that. That will give everyone a huge shot of confidence moving forward. Chilwell superb, Silva superb, Zouma superb. They looked a proper unit straight away.

Still things to work on up front, but we can do that with a solid base now.

Glad we got the reward in the second half even if we weren't overly fluid in the final third.

Back 6 were amazing today. For the first time in more than 12 months we looked like we had a pattern of play and were actually trying not to be so open. Kante and Jorginho dropping in to make a three in the build up or dropping behind a full back to cover when they went forward. We looked like we had a plan today and weren't just leaving it to talent and chance.

Thiago Silva and Zouma were particularly both great today.  When was the last time we kept a clean sheet!?! Amazing to watch Silva organising everyone around him (all in French btw). Very happy for Chilwell to get off the mark with a goal and assist and to be eased in to a game where he wasn't seriously tested defensively. Only one serious moment where he and Zouma got sucked in to the same ball and left space.

Only concern remains how we find the right balance up front. I thought today exposed Werner and particularly Havertz and their lack of physicality in tight spaces. For me Werner and Tammy doesn't look a good fit. Tammy is never someone who can enable others around him and that's what Werner needs if he plays on the left. CHO played really well and critically worked hard. He's earned a stay at the club and will push Pulisic and Ziyech every week.

A great three points when we really needed it. Nice for the for and against too.

A good performance, especially in the 2nd half and a clean sheet.

Great performance from Ben Chilwell as well, the whole team was good all over the pitch.

 Happy days!

On the whole English people are very unremarkable looking.

He looks like if you took the average face of the english national side

Nice to finally watch a game without a stupid defensive error. Definately think a new left back and keeper has played a part in this.

Kovacic was a class above in his short time on the pitch also

Yeah was good to see. Played two great balls. Alas they go unnoticed as no end product on them.

He reminds me a bit of Jimmy Carr, although I think that’s mostly because of the the haircut. He wouldn’t look out of place working in an estate agent‘s.

Very good second half, we played a tough opponent but we found the way to score and finally keep a CLEAN SHEET.

Our team performance was great, we could notice everything in the game and I'm happy with that.

Little worrying that our defenders scored only, but we did well. Very important win, good for our confidence.

COME ON CHELS!!!
