June 30, 20224 yr I hope they do. Barcelona can't register any of their signings, and as they spunked their cash injection already, we'll be able to sign him cheap towards the end of the window. I cannot believe FIFA have not banned them from making signings while insolvent - as they would for us, or virtually any other English club
June 30, 20224 yr How likely is it that Barca can afford Lewandowski and Raphinha? As well as Alonso and Azpi who are both contracted to us so would command a fee? Anyone know how much we are asking for Azpi and Alonso?
June 30, 20224 yr Barca cant even register their free signings yet, how are they going to come up with 80+M for both Lewan and Raphina for a matter of weeks ( or days)? If I really believe the rumour, they are lining up Neymar and Salah too, so unless they are printing money like "Money Heist", just can't see they pull any of these off. Of course Raphinha's first choice is Barca, which Brazilian doesn't? Sure, stay another season at Leeds, fighting off relegation, in 12 months time they'd move on to the next big thing.

Barca are also spending money they got from selling a percentage of their TV rights, which means their annual revenue will be reduced further. They already have a problem staying on top of their wage bill and are spending money they don't have. It feels like a desperate measure to try and stay relevant. If it backfires they may end up going totally bankrupt.

FIFA and UEFA go on for years about how FFP was meant to protect teams and then when the time comes where a club that is struggling financial is paying over what they have then they remain silent. FFP was pretty much just a scam to keep the elite in power and prevent clubs like Chelsea, City and PSG from reaching their level.

Barcelona was busy complaining about everyone else but was literally one of the last teams to pull out of the Super League. Now despite them being £1 Billion in debt the strike a deal for the next 25 years with the promise that they can get a big cash advance! Of course UEFA turn a blind eye to all this as it’s one of the original elite clubs. FFF my ar*e! They just pick and choose what to be annoyed about.
July 1, 20224 yr Very confused about what the plan is for next season tbh. Raphinha is a good player, but like Ziyech he is better in wide areas, so if we a sticking to the same 3421, will he also struggle too? Sterling is more comfortable in central areas so that would make sense, and Dembele was used in those positions to grrat effect at Dortmund, but i find Raphinha a strange choice, unless we are switching a 433. If we are switching to a 433, then signing Ake would be even more of strange decision, as he is decent in a back 4, but much better in a left centre of a 3. Still no news on a defensive midfielder that could make a 433 work though. Dybala is a better fit in 3421, surprised there hasnt been much talk of him. Hopefully this saga doesnt drag on past the weekend, I can understand Brazilian players trying to get a move to Barcelona or Madrid, but the longer it drags on, the more it leaves a bitter taste with Chelsea fans if he does end up here, especially off the back of that Lukaku debacle. He doesnt want to start at a club, having an uphill battle to win fans over.

Every league and authority in football would jump at the chance to kiss barca's grubby cheeks! And we played to the rules, Once ffp came in and even before we weren't that much of a scam, Again after getting into the weeds of barca its so grim its like a horror novel, Not to mention others like man city psg real and more getting away with hacking the system That 1.5bn was also not rerally debt, Roman was never going to rack up huge debts then hold it against the club as it was his toy not a profit vehicle In my OP I might add Get back to talkchelsea, 4am posts, good old transfer window! jkss!! A more mature response would have been to recognise that you posted some silly comments and aim to become better informed. Instead you reply with another stream of nonsense topped off with a lame attempt at an insult. You sound a very immature person. Hopefully this is because you are young which is no one's fault. Keep eating, breathing, drinking plenty of water, and be careful when you cross the road. That way there is a good chance you live long enough to grow out of this phase. July 1, 20224 yr Reports of issues between Raphina and Leeds, they're pushing him to accept Chelsea's proposal because they want the cash and its a higher bid. Whereas he's reportedly telling them to say no because he wants to wait for Barca. Seems pretty simple to me Barca are playing everyone. They can't guarantee Dembele signs so they keep Raphina sweet who is only a backup option if reports are to be believed. Dembele is then made aware of the "serious" intent to get Raphina should he leave and puts pressure on him to sign a new deal. Massive game of poker between Barca, Dembele, Raphina and Chelsea. Problem is both players primarily want Barca and see us as second choice if again reports are to be believed. Personally if I were CFC I would just focus on Sterling and leave both deals on the back-burner. We've already agreed a fee with City apparently and wage with Sterling, why focus on getting another City player at the same time when we can get Sterling right now ready for pre season?

July 1, 20224 yr He is clearly want to go to barca. Even if we get him, he probably will want to leave in 2/3 years time and we will have Lukaku situation in our hand.
July 1, 20224 yr If I was Todd, I would tell him to "do one" now. He has used Chelsea's bid to get Barcelona to focus on him. I don't think Raphinha or Deco realise the perilous position of Barcelona's finances. If, as it sounds, he only wants to go to Barca, I can actually see him remaining at Leeds, as everyone else will walk away.

July 1, 20224 yr I think he'd be a good player for us, looks very talented, but if he doesn't want to come here, there's no point wasting money, if we're only going to have him push for Barcelona in a years time.
July 1, 20224 yr One thing Pep’s got right is he only wants players who want to be there. ‘Dembele who I read was recently married and been in Spain a while I could understand. Raphina not so much. let ‘em go.
July 1, 20224 yr I think now Raphinha is a dead deal, we purchase Dembele, it affords them the funds for him, bin em both off....and don't entertain the 'Snakey' Deco ever again

Let’s offer to add a £150 million release clause that activates in two years. Tell him that by then, if Barca has their finances in order, they can pay the release and he can live his dream of playing for them. In the interim he’ll come here and get a nice wage increase and doesn’t have to feel like he’s giving up on Barca entirely. Odds are he won’t be worth the release clause, but then we can use that value to anchor any negotiations with another club if he wants to leave at that point.
