True and 3 into 2 positions works pretty well, and gives us the option for a back three also (which when James/Chilwell are fully fit isn't as horrific an option as is made out).

He has signed an 8 and half year contract, I'm sure he is fully committed to be a success here. He didnt have to sign for us. Couldve dug his heels in, and forced a move to arsenal like Raphinha did with Barcelona.

Even if that's true it works both ways. If Mbappe suddenly called us this morning and said he wants to sign and PSG were happy to let him go we'd have dropped this lad like a hot potato.

If he performs he can have an Arsenal shrine at his home for all I'd care.

Fair point, but i do still cling to this somewhat niave wish that the players we have want to play for us. Just watched the pitch walk from this lad, and i am even more certain he did not want to sign for us.

I suspect that he wanted Arsenal but being a Shaktar boy wants to get the best for them. Hell they may even have asked him to take the better deal so that they got the most money. What's going on in and around this lads life and home at the moment, its hardly the biggest sacrifice to make is it. But i am convinced he is not very impressed with this move. He is going to have to swallow it and be professional cose he could be here for a long time.

Was presented to the Bridge at half time. Totally unexpected from my part, to be honest, but if he brings intensity and directness, I’m happy.

It's a job to a huge amount of footballers, there's very little emotional attachment  and it will not impact on how he performs.

Thec game is riddled with players who played for the team that they hated as a kid as they were fans of another team.

This is the guy who blamed the length of the grass when both teams were playing on the same grass as to why Arsenal loss!! Just to put what he says into perspective.

He looks an exciting young talent. Really stood out in the champions league. 

I think our recruitment this window of young prospects looks very decent. Young Santos looks a real talent.

Who knows maybe we might even still get Enzo.

This is why I absolutely hate the current situation and the fact Arsenal lead the standings. That deluded fan base is so toxic that it makes me puke just thinking they could win the title. Hopefully City get their sh*t together fast and go on a 12-13 wins run.

Those Arsenal fools have won f**k all for decades, have not played Champions League football for 5 seasons, a laughing stock ridiculed by everybody, last season they were calling Arteta a buffoons and now they have their best season since the very early 2000s, they act like they are this massive superpower and everybody and their unborn child want to play for Arsenal.

Can't wait for their rough patch to come and see City and United breathing in the back of their neck, what a f**king joy it would be to see them finish 3rd or 4th.

Yeah.. I don't get it, but I haven't for so many of the transfers we have made in the last two windows.  Just how the hell are we going to stay under the FIFA fair play cap? Would much rather have put the money towards getting Dec Rice back or, and here's one from outside the box, bringing in Ivan Toney. He's a proven goal scorer in PL now. Only 25 and an excellent penalty taker. OK he has the gambling issue to resolve, but even if he is wiped for a few month's he's got years in him. Imagine a CFC where we have Chillers and Reece rampaging down the wings, Conor, Mason & Dec in midfield, with Toney upfront. England FC!
