Mason Mount

He’s been out best player for months

When everybody has been playing sh*t, that isn't saying much. He wasn't exactly playing well during that slump in form. It was very similar to Willian, a lot of running around, but not much quality.

I also thought Silva and Hudson-Odoi were performing better than him in that period.

Obviously needs to work on his shooting, but I actually think he's waster deeper. His movement is world class, he keeps possession really well in tight areas, and he moves the ball quickly.

We've now seen Havertz, Ziyech, Mount, Werner and Pulisic in the number 10 position under Tuchel, and Mount has been head and shoulders above the rest. I would like to see Havertz and Mount playing there together, or possibly even Pulisic, Havertz, and Mount. No one has excelled as the number 9 yet.

I feel like Mount has made some giant strides in the last 6-8 weeks. He is consistently putting in top performances, and he is playing with real confidence now. Captain material in the making.

He's really improved this season, quality the last few games. People were worried that he wouldn't play under Tuchel, but I think he looks better tbf, same with CHO. I think the only one who's going to struggle getting game time is Abraham.

Mount was every where but his final ball was really lacking especially in the first half. Fluffed one shot in a good opportunity in the first half but that happens. You can Tuchel was frustrated as they really should have scored more in the first half. Final ball just was not there.

There I was thinking he was just Frank’s son and would never play again after he left...

You and a few others went overboard on the first game tbf. Tuchel did say picking a team for Wolves was the hardest thing to do because everyone was so impressive in training, so he went with experience with it being his first game and two days to prepare.

If Mount as good as everyone says he is (which for the most part he is) then he's going to play, same with James, Abraham, CHO. Actually, CHO is playing more now than Lampard played him, I just hope Gilmour gets his chance.

Funny how we see a lot less complaining about him playing now Frank has gone eh?

Because he plays more with purpose. As does the whole team. He plays better than before so why should people complain.

Wait what did I say before the wolves game? I was just being sarcastic there.

I was appalled not to see him against Wolves, because if he had watched any Chelsea game he would have picked him. He said he decided to go with experience and yet chose CHO. But I'm gladly eating my words because Tuchel has realised that Mount has inherited Lampard's skills being his son and all... 😉

I think it's fair to say most managers on the planet would love to have Mount in their team, quite a fantastic player. Just don't make him play left wing or right wing.

Agree, he's so much better centrally.

I'm not sure where he's best suited though, deep or behind the striker. He surprises me.

I thought Lampard found his best decision when he started playing him next to Kante and we saw a more box to box (ISH) Mason. He was putting in some great performances, however, once the team started playing sh*t, so did he imo even though many disagree. But the last few games I've been VERY impressed with him and he's been high up the pitch so who knows.

He's playing there again tonight, let's see.

Top performance again.

Getting into better scoring areas lately as well.

Hopefully he can keep adding goals and assists to his all round game.

On fire ATM.
