Timo Werner

Cesc damningly blaming our uncreative midfielders, or not as good as him at passing, stating Timo looks frustrated, makes good runs and isn’t picked out……That much is so obvious

Cesc is playing dangerous game here. He need to brace from incoming mob

The man speaks the truth though I bet Cesc sees the runs Timo and often time Rom make and never recieve the ball and he's probably frustrated just watching. The more time that goes by the more I realise just how lucky we were to have a passer of his ability, Kovacic is starting to improve in that regard but its nothing like Fab.

Still hoping Ziyech starts pinging balls on a six pence.

Good to see Timo back and with a goal too.... Still hasn't learned to be mindfil of being offside though.

If it wasn't score in the 95th minute I think VAR might have had a closer look at this one. The new thicker lines might have just save him but it would have been very on brand for Werner to have had his effort chalked off for an offside.

Yes he has on this occasion, a good Yard on when Z first makes contact for the pass, fine margins, and timing his run, for once spot on..

Pretty sure VAR would have checked it thoroughly if that was a game deciding goal, possibly ruled it out, it all depends on the timing of draw that "straight" line. For once, the VAR smiled on Werner, dont expect the same luck this weekend.

They showed the VAR offside line after the game, Werner was onside.

I had written christensen off for years of struggles but I can't see werner improving and it's costing the team. We need to start looking for a replacement, a big striker in the mould of lukaku

Most of you probably know I don't rate him. I like him as a personality. I like his effort. But he isn't a natural striker. Not in a million years. And technically he is very poor, very poor touch.

I think if there is a deal to be done in January we should absolutely take it. Otherwise we could be left with a player on big wages and a long contract, sitting on the bench for most games with his value dropping like a stone.

I was hoping for the second season improvement but it looks like he's just not good enough. Can't fault his hard work, and in a counter attack his pace is definitely a great tool to have but inability to even register a shot on goal on countless occasions is absolutely shocking. Half of his shots get blocked, the rest  are a mile away from goal, this is just embarassing. He's just not a very intelligent player and his exceptional work ethic and speed may hae been enough to make up for his other limitations in Bundesliga, but at the EPL he's been found out.

I have been a vocal supporter of Timo, but today was an abomination of a performance. He had no place being on the pitch, against a team that set up so deep with 3x DMs. Sure enough, he gave us absolutely nothing other than being a liability.

Really odd technique of shooting. Cant seem to generate any power in most shots. So poor.

I think that Mount needed to start the game and not Ziyech. Never mind that Mount isn't as good on the right side, his work rate and constant movement into channels and into space simply works with Werner's work rate. They do the leg work and it was producing something last season.

Ziyech is just static as hell, Alonso has more movement than him, that's why we attacked mostly through the left side in the first half, Ziyech doesn't really make Werner a better player. Mount does.

I did question that myself before the match. Makes no sense him playing against a deep sitting side.

He is just not good enough. As @just said lovely fella, great work ethic, just not a good enough footballer or striker. Let him go to Barca on loan if we cannot sell.

Or perhaps we offer the 55mill Firotentina want for their star forward several clubs at looking at and loan them Werner. Maybe he can get in to gear there and we can get some of our money back.

Is getting to the point that him being in the line up is even more of a body blow than Kepa.

Maybe harsh but imo we won the CL in spite of him and his missed sitters. We won't ever win the league if he is anything more than a 20 minute sub for games we have won already and are looking to counter attack.

It's always laughable whenever he's out and you have folks saying how much we miss him. He's sh*t. Being hard working and making runs alone should not warrant a spot in a title chasing team. We should get rid in my opinion

We just played a team that cost more than ours, who would absolutely love to start him on the left. Timo is fine. He's a bit limited, not a 50m player, and not a main striker. But he has value even when he's not in great form - because he works hard. He's a good rotation option.

I think most of our 2nd choice strikers in recent times have been better than him. The likes of Giroud, Eto'o, Remy. Tammy even before his improvement in Rome outscored him.
