Will Aubameyang put in the hard yards though? I don't think he will, and I don't think he can, not at his age. And if he can't, it means we will have the same problem we had with Lukaku and won't be able to play like we did today.

I don't want Auba either but he'll be nowhere near the problem Lukaku was, on or off the pitch.

He couldn't have done more today. Screwed by the refs and VAR (what else is new) but the performance was top notch.

Promising signs for the season. Sure wasn't slow and boring today. We played with a ton of energy and were quick and direct. Again let down by our finishing but I think i've gotten numb to that in many ways. We won't win the league before that changes but we can still probably beat any team on any given day when we are at our best.

I hear what you’re saying but PEA is much more mobile than Lukaku and Kai isn’t even getting 10 league goals this season.

PEA isn’t ideal given the circumstances and wages etc.. but I think if we ignore our issues up front and hope for the best this season a top 4 spot is in danger.

We should be going all out for a younger striker that fits our style of play IMO but we seem to be going for PEA so I’d rather going for him than watch nobody in the box most of the games and then see Kai miss the goal completely from 4 yards out.

Tuchel was asked if he had a problem with the officiating

‘Absolutely. The fans, and the whole dressing room. I cannot understand how the first goal is not offside, and I cannot understand since when players can pull other people’s hair and stay on the pitch. There is no explanation, and I don’t want to accept it. I have no words for it. Both goals should not stand, and then it’s a fair result.’

I really hope Tuchel gets 2 more players, be it Fofana and a real inside forward, I really hope the new owner just splashes the cash I mean if we were ready to pay 75-80m for De Jong already... Cmon.

We are linked with the Gordon kid from Everton, is that going to solve our attacking issues? Would anyone be surprised if Fofana scores for us next will Havertz and Co keep missing sitters?

We got a couple of weeks left in the transfer window and if we want any hope of landing a trophy and having a good season TT needs two good forwards who know how to score goals. Learn from the Lukaku blunder, that does not mean signing a preening c*ck it means signing a workhorse who also knows how to score various types of goals.

Maybe that means an Ivan Toney, or some else equally unfashionable. Either way it needs sorting as all we have basically done is made possibly minor upgrades so far.

Koulibaly > Rudiger

Sterling > Werner

And one decent upgrade:

Cucurella > Alonso

That ans it has only taken two games to run in to the whole Kante and Kova get injured too much problem again. Looking forward to the Jorgi and RLC midfield for 3 or 4 months of the season again.

If we are offering £40m and apparently going back in with £50m surely we could get a proper forward like Patrick Schick for that sort of dough. Who is doing the scouting at this club. It seems a bit like that that game show that used to be on the telly where they spun a big wheel to see where it landed.

Sh*tting myself that we don't go and bid for Phil fking Jones now.

I loved the way we played today, we had so much intensity about our game. Yes, the end product was lacking again, but I feel like if we play at that same intensity week after week, confidence in front of goal will grow. Keep the ball moving quickly, get at teams and make them feel like they are being made to work. No more of this slow recycled possession where we create one decent chance in 30 minutes, enough of this passing all of the way back to the halfway line when we get to advanced areas. Stop giving teams a chance to compose themselves sort out their defensive shape. I don't want us to revert back to that once the weather goes cold again.

Tuchel said when he arrived that he wants to build a team everybody hates playing against, so let's use today's performance as a springboard to achieving that goal.

Taken from Sky sports:

"

  • Chelsea have conceded more goals at home than any other team in the Premier League since the start of April (14 in seven matches). The Blues have conceded in the 90th minute in three of their last six home Premier League matches, as many as in their previous 75 league games at Stamford Bridge combined."

That is frankly embarrassing, and badly needs to be fixed.

I expect the fallout from the game will be a small fine and 1 match ban for Conte, a much larger fine and 5 match ban for TT "bringing the game in to disrepute", a small fine for Tottenham failing to control their players/staff, and much larger fine for us for the same charge, and probably warned about a stadium ban.

Technically true, but a daft bullet for Sky to put up after watching a quality Chelsea performance against Spurs, who got extremely lucky with Taylor/VAR ... probably trying to deflect attention away from the shambles at Old Trafford ...

This type of statistic is not good. It reflects on the mental side more than anything else. Teams come to the Bridge knowing they can still score at the death.

Tuchel clearly couldn't stand the fact that we didn't win.

The fact that he got annoyed at Conte not looking in his eyes could also indicate that deep down Conte knew that he got away with it this time and Tuchel got carried away a bit there but I don't blame him as Conte is known as a dominant figure and Tuchel is also clearly passionate about the game. He said himself something along the lines of "OK good I can't coach at Leeds but the ref can still do this..." so he's ready for a fine.

I think a part of Tuchel is also on some level trying to get the owner to spend more before the transfer window closes and if the owner didn't get hyped after yesterday's game he isn't human so... We might just get 2 more signings.

A) This is the only way he needs to be as a top winning coach.

B) This is accurate. It boiled over. Tuchel "decided" to make the Chelsea -family tighter instead of keeping his cool and avoiding any fines. This is suspension and a small fine + him having to answer the press about it now and in future Spurs-games. I personally love the passion shown between the coaches. No one got injured. Passion is why we watch football.

C) I think Todd is with him in all of the passion shown. He knows exactly what we need to make us really put these games to bed. It showed we are level above Tottenham as a side but we lack that thing they for example have - a harrykane. Easier said than done fixing this. Kai puts that chance in and we win comfortably by 2 goals.

Ask any Madrid or big club fans and they will say they hate playing against us. We have pace, intensity, strength in our side. And Tuchel's tactical switches are brilliant. Nobody mentions our formation yesterday. We attached with a back 4 and defended as a back 5 and we completely nullified Spurs. Our attack lets us down time and again. Get a proper number 9 and a top midfielder and we will be competing with Pool and City. Unfortunately a bent ref cost us the game yesterday.

Side note: I was very impressed how Tuchel has rejuvenated RLC. I wasn't expecting much from him yesterday but he looked great in his RWB role.
