Conor Gallagher

Featured Replies

I thought he was our best player (apart from Silva and Badiashille), at least he tried to defend and get things happen in attack, and he was the only one matching the intensity of Fulham’s players, who bullied us all over the pitch.

I think he showed enough to suggest he starts next to enzo next game whilst others are injured. Both of them worked well off each other, brought energy and won the ball back. Gallagher also often tried to play the ball forward and start attacks.

Wasent a great game dont get me wrong, but if mount was dropped for felix. You could tell the front four to stay up top and he could sit back more and try and snuff out attacks the other way. No way should him and mount both be playing though on current form, and i just think at the moment gallagher is offering more in the middle of the park.

If you ask Gallagher to sit back, may as well try Chalo there or risk Ruben.

I still think under the right manager and development,  there is a hell of a player in Conor.

I'm pretty disappointed with how so much of our fan base has slated him relentlessly, this season. He has been one of the fee who ALWAYS are clearly giving an honest day's effort for the badge, even if he has had his downs.

Mount, Chalobah, Gallagher, most of our academy boys get a lot of stick for whatever the reason, seems on James is immune to it.

He's not perfect, but still getting a few goals for this struggling team, I think be a bit wasteful to sell him in the summer. In the worst case, have a buy-back clause just in case he develops into a great player.

The problem with CG is technically he doesn’t seem very strong which is difficult to improve on at this age.. stuff like decision making, anticipation etc does improve.. but his passing range, ability to control the ball in tight spaces doesn’t improve that much.

for example his body positioning is wrong so many times when he receives the ball that completely block access to a side of the pitch..

I am big fan of all

our academy players and maybe he has a role as a squad player.. having said that I maybe proved completely wrong .. and I would be glad if that happens since he plays with real passion and heart and love that about him.

I like Connor he plays like he wants Chelsea to win and at the end of the game he looks knackered .

Now he may not be the most gifted but I forgive him that and give an A for effort . On here ,headless chicken

and all the other guff is thrown at him by his own supporters ... appalling

Has anyone considered that he may be really raw? With a few improvements here and there he could end up being a really important squad player.

I’m definitely willing to give him a few more years and see how he does. I feel we’ve seen a big improvement from Gallagher recently.

Couldn’t agree more, mate.
He’s Chelsea, works hard, truly cares and is actually one of our very few goal threats. The kind of stick he gets online is honestly quite disrespectful. Is he getting the Mason Mount treatment now that Mason has been out of the picture for a long time?

I wouldn't even say James is immune to it anymore. He's been rightfully criticized this season for displaying a handful of half arsed performances. Injured or not.  All of them had contributed in some way to this disaster of a season and have earned some level of criticism.

Seems to me that Lampard is grooming Gallagher atm. Maybe Pochettino wants to keep him.

I think Lampard sees a lot of himself in Gallagher and hence has a natural affinity towards him.

Not the most talented, nor ever will be, but getting as good as he can be by sheer hard work.

Nationality doesnt matter, I dont care where anyone is from as long as they play well. Why on earth should any manager put a limit on playing players from a certain country, especially one where the club is actually based. Where you from Vagabond?

I do think you need 2-3 Brits in the team that understand the crowd and can convey what the match means to the foreign players especially those matches where there is nothing left to play for yet is an important match for the fans against a hated rival.

He's one of the few who gives it all everytime he get picked. Of course he's still raw and may not be the most talented player, but you need a hard working and determined player in the team. It's an easy option to sell him, because other teams could sense all the pros of signing him, let's work on selling the likes of Ziyech, Pullisic, RLC etc instead.

A headless chicken with a good work rate, nothing more than that.

78th minute he makes a useless foul and the game stops for about 2 minutes.

88th minute again makes a stupid decision and fouls a NF player în their own area and the game stops for about a minute and a half.

I mean the amount of low IQ footballers we have in the squad is unbelievable.

This season has been a disaster and nobody should be made a scapegoat because they were all bad, but there are players who clearly have a bright future since the first time you see them play and some that will play 15 PL seasons and play at the exact same level since their debut.

I feel that Loftus Cheek, Gallagher, Chalobah, Hudson Odoi, Ampadu will never reach THAT level needed at a top club.

As an 8 i have no problem with him, as a no 10 though he makes my eyes bleed.

Think even at an 8 he's a problem. His first touch let's him down and the deeper he is the more of an issue it will be (ala United).

I can see why Lampard and Potter had him further up.
