Why do we want trossard?

We are trying to rebuild our offense, we need player who has the potential to be a star not rotational player.

A lot of our fans don't have the best judgement when it comes to who is good and who isn't in the market. If you look up the Nathan Ake thread you'll see so many people complaining about us being linked to him in the summer and now he is working wonders at City this season. So yeah, I'd rather trust the people we hired than people suggesting players like Trossard.

Oh I don't know, some are pretty good most of the time. @Argoand @BordeauxBluefor example.

Personally I like the sharing of detailed opinions that @Gol15and @RIP Mourinhohave on various issues.

Last it cannot be denied how wonderful and insightful @Munkworthis 🙂

Given the detailed opinions you talk about, It's a shame that Gol has to be on ignore so often. Never met another poster who makes up so much nonsense.

"You said x. I interpret that as Y. Therefore you must actually think z" etc.... His ability to extrapolate to the Nth degree is second to done. Either that, or he remains a serial WUM.

If we have set attacker, for example

Hazard - Costa - willian/Pedro

Fabregas

And we need something different then signing trossard make sense.

Right now we have

Pulisic-Kai-Sterling

Mount

Don't much about him other than YouTube clips but he looks like someone who's prepared to take on and beat his man - something we lack imo.

I'm prepared to wait and see him in a blue shirt in the EPL before forming an opinion on him.

That's a rather novel approach in here

Our attack is crying out for quality. Signing a good 28 year old will bring us nowhere. We don't need floor raiser, we need ceiling raiser.

I won't judge Madueke until he play for us.

We've spent millions and tried a boatload of attackers like Havertz, Werner, Pulisic, Lukaku, Morata, Barkley, Ziyech, PEA, CHO, Sterling, Mount searching for our next ceiling raiser since Hazard left. But the players who've actually had some success for us have been Costa, Tammy and Giroud. It's clear searching for flash is a futile exercise. It's better to focus on consistent attackers operating with a class midfield.

I can only assume most of the people on here don't watch our games if they're asking why we need to sign wingers. We are absolutely terrible up top both in chance creation and goals.

I'm pretty sure most understood why we need wingers but this is our 5th winger signing for the season already.

Sterling, Joao, Nkunku, Mudryk and now Noni.

I know we need to refresh the attack but we don't have to do it midseason (albeit is actually a cause for joy) especially when the likes of Enzo or other midfielder signings is very much needed.

Pulisic, Mount, Gallagher, Sterling, Joao, Nkunku, Mudryk, Noni and Havertz for 3 positions is a bit much, no? Whilst our midfield remains Jorgi, Kova and Carney makes us the definition of top-heavy

I hope this lad turns out to be great for us but the more I read the stranger this signing seems for the money paid and what other similar players may be available.

Seems an unnecessarily risky purchase.

Perhaps Potter has in mind the good old 2-3-5 system of the 1930s ? 🙂

Well the issues we have is Sterling is out for a few weeks and Pulisic could be out for months. Mudryk was on his way to arsenal this window if we didn't step in and Madueke was being tracked by a few teams so we got in while we could.

Im trusting that we're going to end up getting a CM before the end of the window, I'll start panicking if it gets to near the end of the window and we still don't have one.

Im also not understanding how anybody can look at that shower of sh*te lineup we've just put out against Liverpool and not be over the moon that we've revamped nearly our entire front line, instead people are finding reasons to complain.

Also, next season we will be going into it with a forward line that have all players together for half a season (barring Nkunku) and not be going into it where they're all strangers and need time to gel together

But what I don't understand is that many have said that this could be the end of CHO. Now whilst many, including me, are still on yje fence over CHO, I don't see how this would be that much of a step up in any department.  Just seem a waste of just shy of 30m. It's nothing against Madueke, I hope he is a great success, but we already have a player that appears very similar and we need players elsewhere (Frimpong or Dumfries at RB, Lavia, Bissouma or Rabiot maybe at DM). Whilst these funds wouldn't buy any of them it would go towards it.

Oh and we were looking for this kind of profile player I probably would have gone for Olise from Palace. Soon it will be too late as he will be priced out.

Which similar player are you referring to ? Havertz and mount don’t beat players 1v1.. ziyech doesn’t like to either and very rarely goes to the byline.. too one footed infact.. pulisic one could say but he plays on the left and is very light weight..

this is a great signing if we can sort his injury record.

After Mudryk's debut, I find myself more agreeable to your points

By that you mean me interrupting your morning coffee and tagging you to do it right?

I watched a few YouTube highlights of him and he looks a real talent. Very excited to see him play.

With Mudryk and him at least we don't have to think of Leao anymore. With Noni we could potentially develop our own Leao for a fraction of the cost.

I don't think you can build a team saying I want a class midfield and a average attacker and it can work. You need quality everywhere to have a good team. If what you have is just some consistent player but average, you will turn into spurs. You basically will never compete for big title.

Some of the fans sometimes forget that we won the Champions League, the biggest prize in Europe with these same average players. You can have all the best players in the world in the team but if a winning mentality isnt there, they will achieve nothing

That’s a blessing I believe. Didn’t like the idea of him coming to Chelsea.
